I would scope that cylinder and see how it looks and then check compression on it.
When you say misfiring is it pending and storing codes? Or are you looking at mode 6 data on misfires?

update: Pulled bank 2 apart. Changed camshaft adjusters, cleaned and flowed injectors, replaced all coils (again), found a nose seal on the cam that was in the wrong slot. Got that fixed, everything back together. And guess what.
With brand new cam solenoids plugged in, misfire on cylinder 7 still present.
Unplug exhaust cam solenoid. Misfire goes away entirely....at this point I'm completely at a loss.

Following up on this thread because I'm having the same issue now. Head bolts replaced last week in 2009 C63 and now there is a small misfire around 1500 RPMs, and OBDII error reads Camshaft position, intake/left/front bank 2 - timing over-retarded". They're advising to replace the cam adjuster. Would you please let me know what ended up happening with this thread and if there was a fix? Thank you!

I had to replace two camshaft adjusters on one bank shortly after my head bolts.
if your keeping the car long term, suck it up and replace all four. There are two for each side.
