Nope. In fact the Stage 3 C63 that he was putting cams in, one of the 4 stock factory cams he pulled out had blocked oil holes.

Go to 5:50 in the video.

I'd be happy with 550 rwhp NA if it was doable...

550whp on n/a would be max effort. These cams are gonna cost 1k each probably...

you can run the ess kit and run e40e but you need to also run meth injection to take the strain off the stock fuel system. That way you don’t need to hack up the fuel system. 8psi isn’t that much... the stage 2 weistec does that. But the ess Kit is way more efficient with the gen 3 rotor design. I’d get a custom pulley made and run 10-11 lbs

Ya that’s a totally reasonable for a billet cam. If that’s what they cost for this including the amg tax that’s a steal

I'm pretty sure this engine was rebuilt before he discovered that the newer camshaft oil holes weren't drilled right thru.
They were new "Mercedes" camshafts fitted during the rebuild at around 120K.
He said those new camshafts had 40K on them since the rebuild.
He was surprised that the bearing finish and caps had not chewed out with no oil hole
Rebuild was around 120K now on 160+K.

Ok even if they were new, do you think Mercedes updated the manufacturing to now include oil holes that aren’t drilled thru properly? That’s even worse than just having them not correct from the beginning and just not updating them

That looks like 45whp on a bone stock car? That’s pretty good.

I spoke with someone from gulf performance about these. The price point will be $6000 but they are doing the pre order pricing of $5000 and throwing in new arp cap bolts and washers.

Yeah,, it´s just way to expensive.
2000-3000 would be more normal and still expensive compared to in sweden with Volvo billetcamshafts, two complete sets for an 16v engine would be about 1500dollars.

reach out to tacos and work out a new manufacturing deal with your manufacturer of choice. if no then chalk it up as luxury tax.

It’s not that bad...at $5000. 6 is kinda silly... but a custom billet cam for an ls engine is like $800.... the m156 needs 4 so even if you were getting them at ls cost would be $3200... add in the r and d to develope the design on the cam. If it is well developed and they make power that is... otherwise yeah its a waste.
