Finding VIN from Engine Number
Hi,
In the process of rebuilding blown/bent crankshaft.
Found a new engine and engine number.
However the VIN Number is not available. I have personally seen the engine,
Looks in good condition and all ancillaries will be new in the total cost.
The mileage told to me about this engine is lower than mine when the machine blew.
(Note: The repair shop has not seen/known my mileage)
Is it possible to find the VIN Number through the engine number that I have?
Where I'm from, they pull out the engine/gear/cpu etc and not note down VIN.
(Still in the back ages and rules aren't as mandatory, Stupid I know)

Out Of Control!!
No that is not possible, however you know the engine number. For the swap to work correctly you must use the same en)gine model(xxx.xx or .xxx) the serial number does not make a difference except that you can tell the age

Ahh Thanks A Lot. Was curious and its always better to ask and learn than dive and drown.
Thought maybe someone has some way.
However, the replacement is a newer engine, driven less milage also.
Mine blew at 73,000km/45.360 Miles
New one is 52,000km/32,310 Miles
So happy about that.
