2012 P31 C63 Coupe Trackrat, 2019 GLE63S Coupe Beast
Lot of flat and angular surfaces. Big frontal area.
Get the front end resprayed and covered in Xpel and forget about it.

This.. if your front end is ever replaced due to accident (deer or other) it is even more prone to chips as the body shops don't cure paint as well as the factory.

I just started using Dr. Colorchip and it works well; you need to have patience since some of the larger/deeper chips need a few applications to fill the chip. For the tiny chips, one application should work. Or just get the thing resprayed, like mentioned above.

That is the best by far... I have a color for each car from them. They even hit the metallic green well on one of them.

Good to know! How visible are your larger chips after using this? I can still see some of mine, so maybe I need to do more applications and use more patience haha.

I'm also +1 for that option. Did it to mine's either, got a good result. It's not 'mint, factory paint' again, but I guess it means car is being driven. What are we without a few scars?

This is the very reason why some people, like myself install Paint Protection Film (PPF).

It only works when paint is brand new (from factory or resprayed)... Sadly it was not my case, as I've purchased it from someone else (not brand new), but I would definitely do that PPF protection. I think it's a nice investiment - if you plan on keeping the car for a long time.

I have actually been considering that to protect the paint a little more. The fight against time (and pidgeons and trees and sun and rain) can make some casualties over the color. I've done that Ceramic Coating, pretty good result, looks a bit "more natural" so to speak, and you get the water repellency effect plus the absence of that extra plastic on the corners of the body.

So due to the discrepancy, I had the paint cut and polished out to match the rest of the car, then re-wrapped the front in PPF.
Then earlier this year I had paint correction done, then ceramic coating the entire car over top of the new PPF.
And it still look good, considering the car is 12 years old.

In 2017, I had to removed the old PPF that started turning a gray matte finish. It's been on the car for years, anyway the paint underneath was pristine.
