has anyone fit a 265 in the front ?

I'm running 255/35's currently but have a second set of forgestars enroute ( took advantage of the recent sale ) that I'm going to use as a dedicated track / speed event setup.... going with 345/ 30 Sport Cup 2's in the rear but wondered if anyone had squeezed a 265 into the front......

thanks !

I got a 265/35 on front in a bind when I trashed a 255/35 at WGI. Rubbed the KW strut collar and fender a little, and the liner but who cares. I think it would have been ok if I had adjusted the ride height up 1”. My limitation at that point were my 8.5” front rims. I wouldn’t run less than a 9.5” on track.

thanks @BLKROKT - I'm not lowered and the offset is a bit further out than stock, so I'm hopeful on inner clearance and outer looks pretty good, especially since the Cup2's are a bit less square it seems..... ordered a set in, along with a set of 255's just in case.... will know for sure by thursday.....

You'll be fine then. I’d be running 265s if I had wider rims. You should look to roll the front fender lip - I rolled them anyway through rubbing and being too low. I’ve had a good look around lately with everything taken apart and there’s plenty of room behind the liners, you’re not going to hurt anything important if you rub.

Two other things. To fit a 265 you’ll prob need to run at least -3 camber to tuck them in under compression. I’m -3.3F/-2.8R. That’s why the front shock collar comes into play for me but you’ll be ok with OE suspension. You have the KMAC plates right?

Also make sure you get those PSC2’s pre heat cycled. It makes an enormous difference.

I am running 235/35 x 19 front and 255/35 x 19 rear, all standard AMG wheels.

Want to go to 245/35 × 19 from and 275/35 ×19 rear. Is this possible, no change to suspension etc. All standard. Definetly do not want rubbing at all.

if you're on stock rims and suspension you can fit those in with a set of h & r 12mm spacers...... I ran V12's in that size for 6 months with no rubbing... some tires like a r888 likley would rub as they're wider than average.....

I'm on stock 18s running a 245/40 in front with 12mm HR spacers and a 275/35 out back with 10mm HR spacers. I get the occasional scrub in back when hitting big bumps or dips at speed. Ran the same tire setup without spacers and it was fine too.

Running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's.

assuming you're running oem rims you can fit those with H& R 12mm spacers / longer lugs and it should be fine.... assuming you don't try R888's or some wider then typical tire.

Well - the bad........ 265's could fit.... but opted to stay with a new set of 255 Cup 2's for the fronts....

the good/ great - the 345's fully clear !! Can't wait to get some miles on them and share a few pics.... they're HUGE, but fit perfectly within the HMS flares.... with only 15 miles on them so far it's clear they are far grippier that the previous 4's ... but need to get all the release agent cleaned up in the morning and get them heated up...

How wide is that rear rim? Looks a little narrow for 345’s?

the rims are 11.5's - meeting Michelin's min width..... the 345's in Cup2's seem to run a bit wider than 4's..... they measured about 7/8" wider on contact patch.

hoping to get some runs up 99 this morning with the Dragy to see how it runs...

Yeah...... about Michelin’s min width. You should really just disregard that number. Stick to the high end of their range if you’re going to be turning the car in anger, especially in front. Michelin didn’t properly account for the PSC2’s to be used on a 4000lb car.

Agree - fronts are 9" and nicely square, and the 345's are really a speed/ quarter setup - I'm keeping the other rims/ tires for DD and any other events like the Big Bend race etc...

Hello,

I have to bring up the thread again.

I plan to get ultra light rims made. But for this you have to take off 2 complete sets. The rims are also used in the DTM in Germany.

9x18 ET ??

10x18 ET 50

265/ 35 R18 Michelin Cup 2 all around.

The question is: has anyone ever mounted 265 wide tyres on a 9 inch rim in front ? What about the offset? I think about ~ 30.

They fit on my ride, no issues. I will say make sure if your lowered you double check. I adjusted my coil overs just a bit to make sure, if your stock you shouldn’t have a problem. I put them on the stock 18in rim. If you pm me I will send a pic.
