Tire Sizing

Question regarding the clearance/rub of the stock tire size vs sizing up; I currently have the OEM size PS4's and need to replace, has anyone gone up a size front and rear without issue/compromise? running factory suspension height and settings.

Thanks in advance.

I believe the factory size up front on the 507 wheels is a 245 no? pushing the rears up to a 275 would be nice, I was considering going to a 255 up front

507 same as any other non-BS car. 235 front / 255 rear.

I'll echo that you can go 245/275 on stock suspension without issue.

You can run 255 up front on a proper width rim. I’m doing it now. And 275 rear. Not a single rub. Good luck and read the threads on all this. It’s all been done before.

What about on the standard 507 rim would that not work properly? For the 255 up front

Like many here, I've got the 12mm in front, 10mm. Stock wheels, 245s up front 275s out back. I get the slightest scrub out back when I hit a dip just the right way at speed. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

I sent you a DM, btw.

Also OP, why do you want a square setup? So you can rotate them or something?

No issues going with 245 and 275 widths even on a lowered car. Only caveat is if you change wheels and offsets.

The speedometer will show -2 mph vs actual if you jump to 275... does the ABS get a little messed up too or is that self correcting?
https://tiresize.com/comparison/

I am going to order this week and have burned through many 255's and want to step up to 265 or 275... not sure which.

I'm running 235 & 275 x18's and no problems with ABS and according to my GPS speedo is spot on up to the Aussie speed limit of 110kph.

Interesting... all the charts say 255 ideal and 265 max for a 9” rim

I'll be running 245's on front and 275's again on rear next tyre change.
I'm on E400 AMG 18's with 8.5" fronts and 9" rears with similar offsets to factory C63 18's 8"+9".
The 255 factory size is to give the manufacturer plenty of clearance around the tyre.
My 275's fit no problem on rear and have never heard any rubbing even with 5 adults and luggage.
I don't fang mine around corners that often but do occasionally the odd traffic light run so 275 Michelin PS4's definitely limit wheel spin with traction in sport mode.
Also here in OZ the 245/275 Michelins are actually cheaper than the 235/255 sizes.

c400 255/275 tire size

I'm sorry to resurrect this thread but I see that most of ppl in here going with the Michellin PS4's. I was wondering what made you guys to choose this tire. I'm just asking because there are so many brands nowadays.

Also, I'm planning to run 255 / 275 combo on my stock 19" wheels (c400). I read that I will need a 12mm spacers up front. Do I need any spacer in the rear? I would like to push my rear wheels out a little so it sits flush and reduce the gap. I won't be lowering the car for now.

Because no other tire offers the street performance and wear characteristics of the Michelin’s. They are the best all around tire currently. If you don’t mind losing some tire life you can get more grip from other tires

Thanks for the reply!
I'm going with the michellin route as well. I don't want my tires to wear faster and I will not going to track this car.
