Burning smell coming from my car pls help
Hi all

lately I’ve been smelling this burning smell in my car on initial start up.. it’s a faint smell and smells like burning rubber.. it goes away after the car is pretty much warmed up.. does anyone know what this could be?

Long shot, but check the taillights. The ground pin on the harness is too small and it will burn the plastic around the pin. It may have been a recall at one point.

Got it figured it out.. looks like it was a leak from intake manifold.. thanks for the advice.. and gfys to those who want to be sarcastic

sorry valve cover gasket leak** I had another post regarding a p2187 code I was getting so I’m getting my posts mixed up, but my mechanic recommended me to change my intake manifold gasket to take care of that code. lol do you enjoy trolling on this forum? I thought we were supposed to help each other out here.. ELE

a. try clearing the codes on intake leaks first unless under warranty. I've had a few that come and go without an expensive repair.

b. best to just ignore sarcasm rather than escalate and alienate someone, especially long time owners, who may later help you

I’ve reset the code before and it hasn’t come on for a while but it’ll pop back up here and there and sometimes it even clears on it’s own.. I’ve been reading there’s a good possibility that it has to do with my intake manifold gasket or purge valve..

so you were getting the same code? If so did it affect the drive/performance of your car in any way..

And I’ll remember to ignore the sarcasm going forward
