Project Car or Newer Benz?
Hey everyone, I’ve made a few posts recently. My w204 4M Sport has been at Penske InSkip Mercedes for 2.5yrs, I just got it back.
My vehicle has had allot of work done, including a ‘new’ used engine from when I hydro-locked it in early 2017.
It still needs some work that was supposed to be covered under insurance claim but not repaired. So I had to purchased replacement OEM Hella fog lights, and a new grille because mine was cracked. This led to me down the rabbit hole and I bought Eye of Megatron LEDS and Spec-D tuning Headlamps.
My buddy, who’s a certified Honda mechanic, were planning on turning my car into a project car, new brakes, new Command Screen, Speakers, Wheels, Satin Wrap, coil overs etc.
But I had to bring my car back after Evap Valve went, I’m Pissed cuz car sat for 2.5yrs and still isn’t right, I reached out to Mr Treiber, VP Mercedes Customer Service because my entire incident has been ridiculous and I would like my car to be replaced because I don’t know the mileage on the replacement engine and if complications will arrive from vehicle sitting for 2yrs.
Gunna be meeting with VP of sales to see my options for a trade, I was informed they would be giving me an aggressively high value for my car and offer me an aggressively low price-point for a new car. But i’m Nearly done paying off my current w204 and don’t wish to jump into another loan.
What would you guys do in my situation?

in honesty no joke. I rather do that than have to deal with that **** anymore. The "project car" is gonna be a car that sits in some garage half taken apart for the next 5years till you decide to part it out to people on the forums.

2016 GTs, 2014 C63 AMG and 2014 C350 Sport (wife's car, she thinks it's an AMG - shhhhhh)
EDIT: just to add... 2.5 years? HTF do you let that happen? After 60 days the dealership would be a smoking hole in the ground if it was my car.

I’m supposed to meet with them tomorrow to see what my options are, would love to get a c63 but that’s not in the cards.
It’s ****ing insane that this situation occurred, I even had to go to court because my c300 wasn’t inspected and I couldn’t do a dam thing for dealership couldn't get Exhaust Manifold. They said part was nationally back ordered, it took another 1.5yrs to get that after the first year when they replaced engine, front axel, and other exhaust parts.
Mods, my apologies... I placed this thread in w204 AMG section rather than c300 w204 — please migrate to C300 w204.

2010 C300 4MATIC........ 2011 C63 AMG.............. 2015 CLS400 4MATIC.....
If your c300 was flawless then it would be a different story. I'd get that car away as soon as possible. There are high mileage examples that go for 5k don't even bother with your car. Just don't get a 4 cylinder Mercedes, stick with a 6 or 8.

Yes 100% trade it, work the best deal you can and get rid of that thing, it will never be right so best to just start knew with something.
