Carbon Steering Wheels for Everyone!

Well, we shall see. Trying to get a manufacturer to shoot us a good price.

Just to note - newer generation steering wheels are more expensive and probably come with airbag

- the electronic addition of the LEDs / RPM counter and screen are also a decent addition to the price

Either way it seems they'll still be reasonable - but I'd like to confirm before I post. Orders would go through me I guess and then I'd ship them out to you guys. Perhaps a group buy could get better prices, but I will likely bite the bullet myself first to determine the quality. (However I will likely get a prefacelift steering wheel, without the LED's)

I don't want carbon in any way, but I would be possibly interested in a facelift wheel full alcantara maybe a bit thicker than my 507 wheel with the display in it at the right price.

Basically I want this for a c63 https://www.advantagebmwparts.com/oe...iABEgK8svD_BwE

This is interesting also carbon, LED for cheap appears to be the same screen realcarbontastic is using in the $2000+ wheels they charge 700 more for the sceen, anyone want to take a chance on this one? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3300...chweb201603_55

Wasn't there a thread a while back about a few people ordering the carbon wheels and not receiving them? Not sure it was from the link you supplied or not but I remember seeing a thread about it.

That rings familiar, just like with any expensive thing I'd be concerned about my money...

I'm sure that Alcantara would be an option and it would probably be a lot cheaper, I can ask

Also I don't know if there's a way to turn that led off but I can imagine giving myself epilepsy driving at night so also that's why I'm not really considering that :S

I like it on my BMW at night the most but then again you can't really see it in the bright sunlight during the day and you have to turn it on so you can choose, hopefully these are like that where you don't have to have it on all the time but don't think it would bother me if it was.

Seems like the kinda thing I'd like if it was already on the car... not something I would actively pursue -- especially at $2,400.

Maybe after I've done a full conversion to Stage 3 w/blower I could see spending that kind of $ on the wheel. All my spare funds are patiently waiting for said blower... which I won't do until my warranty is up.

Let me know how you make out and what you find though. I could be persuaded to join in... i'm a sucker for gadgets

Yea you wouldn't have to get the LED's which would save you a decent bit

They're cool I just don't think they're for me.

This is probably a dumb question, but would there be any possibility of adding heat to the steering wheel, or is that a no-go because of the clockspring? That would be a strong selling point for me.

You would certainly need a new clock spring and some wiring work to be able to support a heated wheel - the steering wheel with the heating element is the easy part.

How would this work? Wouldn't we need to send cores in?
