Prefacelift Black Series Conversion Plus More!

Hello everybody!

I'm very excited to start this thread because it has been a couple months that I've been holding everything on the side until I had free time to start the build and had everything to get started! Everything hear is for prefacelift models, nothing was converted to facelift except the front grille which I am still waiting to receive this Wednesday to test fitment on the front bumper. I will provide a full breakdown of everything installed and a full list of all parts. Let's begin!

List of parts:
KW Variant 3 V3 Coilover
Yomato Carbon Black Series Kit

Eagle Eyes DRL Headlights for Prefacelift Models
H7 HID Conversion
BS Front Grille
Darwin Pro BS Wing
Custom Made 2-Piece Forged Wheels

Here is a before pic:

As most have already seen the hood, fenders, and rocker panels have already been installed. No modifying needed all were direct fitment and replacement of old panels with original bolts.

Just today I installed the Eagle Eyes headlights. Had to remove the 10A fuse from the fuse box and replace it with one they provided. Had to run a wire from the fusebox that is connected to the new 10A fuse around the engine bay to the new headlights.

After running the wire and connecting to both headlights I tested fitted, tested the lights, started the car, and working perfect! Everything took 30 mins from taking off old headlights to installing the new ones.

Side shot and keep in mind this is not fully screwed down and placed properly. It was taken after testing the lights

Up next will be installing the front bumper after I receive the grille!

It cost me $754 total shipped for a set. Also, came with the HID kit and ballast. If you want to switch to HIDs make sure to tell them so they can include it with the shipment and explain to them exactly what you have currently, bi-xenon, halogen, etc.

It's been a long wait! Have you got any updates on the kit?

Rear quarters were cut today. Interestingly enough I notice the inner shield is still in tact, no welding required. I’m double checking with a friend who is certified in auto body just in case. Filed the edge to give a smooth finish and will cover with etching primer to prevent rust just for security even though I see very minimal bare metal.

I am not sure about your kit but the HMS kit required cutting the fender higher than that and welding the inner and outer fender back together. It is a limiting factor in how much you can lower the car and mine rubs a little on the top of the tire tread, on the left side, on the worst dips. Something to think about as your rear wheels will stick out past that fender edge. Following along and enjoying your build. Best of luck!

Yea the HMS flares are different from this kit. My kit doesnt have open space in between from the body of the car and the end of the kit if that makes sense. After doing the measurements from the cut and the new wheels and new tyres I'll still have about 3/4 inch space. I might cut the inside of the kit like this guy did just so I can cut higher and have more clearance to lower when my KW's come in but im not huge about lowering it. We'll see

Your suspension will compress more than that over during regular driving.

Sad update- After trying to install the front bumper we noticed they sent us the wrong one, they sent me a facelift front bumper when it was all supposed to be for my prefacelift. Called, got hung up on. Messaged through IG where we communicated heavily through and no response. Might have another supplier in the meantime that can get me BS front bumper made for prefacelift models within two weeks. EVERYBODY BEWARE of Yomato Carbon, I gave them a second chance after a dispute when I received my kit but now I officially will say they are not a professional company to purchase anything from. They confirmed two times with me before sending the kit that it was all for the prefacelift, when I requested pictures before they shipped it their excuse was that they already boxed and packaged everything in a crate but assured me its for the prefacelift model.

What is the difference on the bumpers? They both will fit the only difference is the headlights. Where is it not fitting on your car?

The headlights, the grille, and the alignment to the hood because remember the hood is different also on a facelift. The grille is too big it doesnt allow my hood to properly close and it also doesnt allow me to install the top chrome trim that follows the guide of the grille. Doesn't line up correctly with the headlights, it leaves a big gap on the driver side between the light and the bumper.

Here's a pic of my original bumper. You can see the difference. Facelift is more flat and prefacelift is curved inwards.

Unfortunately I think all bs kits do that. They use copies of the bs parts which all used the facelift grill and headlights

Thanks to John from ZDkits he walked me step by step on how to modify and make this front bumper work instead of charging me for a new front bumper for the prefacelift BS kit. Still not the best fitment but we made it work to the best possible. I will post pics when the front and rear are done! & funny story, Yomato finally replied back after they saw how much I was exposing them for giving me horrible customer service and not even showing any type of support. I didn't even bother to open the message I refuse to deal with a company that hangs up on their client and then shuts off their phone. I IN NO WAY came off as an angry customer I literally just asked them how we can make this front bumper work and explaining they should of just told me upfront this bumper was made for facelift so I could atleast have some expectations of what I was going to deal with when installing and prep for it
