swiching from c300 w204 to c63 w204
Hello C63ers, I looked on the forums quite a bit but i couldn't find the information i wanted thus I'm writing this post.
I love my w204, i think w204 has a better looking design than the w205 and I am willing to have a worse mpg economy with the 6.2L vs the 4.0Biturbo in the w205 for the sake of aesthetics.
How much higher is the cost of maintenance and ownership of the C63 vs the C300? Currently I'm changing brakes every 2-3 years and tires every 30,000miles or so. Other than that i do perform Service A and B on a 8 to 10month interval depending on the amount driven.
If this was asked somewhere and i blatantly missed it, sorry, dont kill me!

The important distinction is that you are going from a standard model to an AMG... That is what's going to increase your maintenance costs. Average A & B service at the dealer is +/- $600 and a set of brakes/rotors are +/-$3,000. You gotta be ready to pay if you want to play ;-)

I think you are making the right choice to stay in the 204 platform. I too am not a fan of the 205's having traded one in to go back to the 204 already... it just wasn't the same.

Gas doesnt scare me much as my daily commute is only about 30miles. Im sure insurance is a bit higher too haha.
As far as tires, i live in Chicago so having summer/winter sets will be a necessity for a daily driver im sure.

please do not pay 3k for brakes that’s insane. I can do front and rear rb two piece rotors and pads myself for 2200. Oem one piece soo soo much cheaper. Look at fcp euro for most of your parts. With their lifetime warranty and competitive pricing I’ve used them a bunch. You can put one piece rotors on p31 package if you want to save money. DIY this stuff and you will save huge.
I’m glad you mentioned RB. I’ve been checking out their two piece sets and I am totally fine doing DIY... been doing that forever.
This may be a dumb question but all I can find on the RB site is fronts... Is that because the rears are the same or am I missing something? When I do it I want to hit all 4 corners.

haha fellow Chicago native here too - although I live in VA now. My family is all still there.

In general, just be prepared to spend alot more on service than what you were spending on the C300.. I've had my C63 for 8 months now and I've spent about $3k on it already.

everything you need plus pads front and rear well still need two brake sensors, but those are cheap.

I take my brakes to a performance indy shop and they are still half the dealerships charge.
Tires, yeah, you'll go through tires. Between winters and summers, I might be on my 6th or 7th set or rears in 90k miles of ownership.

$54/month for full coverage???? I am currently paying $158/month which i thought is amazing considering i was paying $275/month when I first bought the car. $100k/$300k at $500 comprehensive and $1000 collision deductibles

yup full coverage. 250/500k 500 deductible good driving record married 3 cars on policy, boat, and a house. I’m sure it all has an effect on my low pricing. Not sure on your age either. That’s huge too. Also location.
