Lower than I care to admit. I just see them as racing slicks at that point. 😂
But on a more serious note, usually when I brake traction coming out of a slow right-hand turn. Or when I start slipping in the wet.

Another question: who smokes up the parking lot of the tire store they're going to? I always get applauded when I get new 305's

G'Day Fella's,
Dogtag114, with Oz being such a dry country ....... generally, I'm happy to get my money's worth out of them, before I look at replacing tyres.
Hope that helps
Regards

If you rip it after the new meat be careful not to break the seal of the wheel/tire.........I was warned to not rip it right after new tires because of the wheel basically just spinning inside of the tire from the massive amount of TQ (591) my car makes. Any validity there?

That sound like a real possibility.
When fitting tyres, especially to Mag Wheels, the Tyre Fitters, generally use a waxy lubricant, to help the rubber slide over the wheel rims lip.
Being a lubricant, it could do as as you have been told, until this dries out ......... after some period of time.
Hope that helps

There's a reason serious 1/4 mile cars literally screw the tires to the rims.

2/32" - Costco - mileage warranty, boom, new set of rears. I am good for 1 set of rears per year and I am not a burnout guy, well, most of the time....

Do you trust the Costco guys with your rims? Do they have a protective collar on the lug wrench?

Looks like a lot of guys are willing gamble with tread showing.........."even in the rain". Not smart. Someone could die.

I answered 2/32" not because "it's the law" but the reality is that by the time the tires get down to that, they're probably heat cycled to **** anyway. Hardly ever rains here, and I don't daily drive it either, so don't really care about that. I've driven on slicks in the rain though...you're gonna have a bad time.

Now, to order 265s or 275s... I think I’m gonna try 265 since the actual tread width is fractionally bigger on 275 it does t seem worth it.

I went with 275 on stock 9" rim for not only the extra poofteenth inch width but to also give the rim a little more protection from the wider carcass / side wall of the 275 over the 265
