Tires Sizes and suspension recommendations.

Has anyone tried the new Continental Tires? I had on the Michelin pilots this summer and I didn’t like them.
From what I see here folks use either Pilots or P Zeros.

Also can the rear tires be changed to 255/40 or 255/45? Looking for a softer ride.

Also, without throwing reliability away on an Air suspension, what’s best suspension kit for comfortable driving?

The PSS is the old version, 4S is the new. What did you not like about them?

Rough ride. Grip was OK in the rain, never felt unsafe but never 100% stable.

I’m curious about continentals, I have Pro Contact on my daily driver Ford Focus and they are horrendous, sidewall basically made of paper.

I've never heard that for PS 4S. Stock wheels? a dent in the wheel? a bad balance? (after install did you gun it in first 24 hours and slip the wheel on the rim?)

suspension,, H&R springs and bilstein shocks, this gives smoother ride, but still very good when pushing it in corners.

this. I only did the springs and they helped a lot. Before the springs, the car was pretty rough. The PS4S are some of the most comfy tires I ever put on my C63 when I had it. You want a hard ride? Try some RE-71Rs!

I have the stock 18s. I don’t drive very aggressively and the balance could have been bad but I had an alignment done when I got car and my service rep told me that during that process they would balance the tires if they needed it.

Chris - you put on the H&R lowering springs and got a SOFTER ride?
Have other readers found the same?
My car is still on stock springs, so I have no experience with the H&R hardware for our car, but every car I've had in the past got stiffer with lowering springs.

I can´t say, but i´ve got H&R spring together with bilstein shocks, it completely transformed the car.
From what i think AMG just slapped on some firm stuff just to make sure it felt sporty and produced just good enough tracktimes, no finesse at all.
H&R with bilstein feels way more developed, a softer smooth ride when taking it easy, and produces way more grip when pushing it.

yes. Non-P30 suspension. It got softer but not floatie. Its common to read about people getting better ride quality with just H&Rs on the pre-FL cars. I’m not sure about 2012+ cars.

Do you have a link to your blistens? The link you provided me sends me to a shock absorber for a 2002-2006 Chevy Avalanche

I can´t remember the 'B' number.
Somebody might help me.
It´s the sportiest ones without adjusting capability,, is it B8?

Those aren´t really for our AMG´s,, but they are good
They are here in europe what we call them: 'sprint'
And they offer a bit smoother ride as i stated above, but when pushing it, they take it better than stock shocks.
Also you get some better 0-60 times due to some more weight transfer.

I can’t find a kit for these in these states that include springs. Should I just add the H R springs?
