Erractic oil temp, anyone?

Erractic oil temp, anyone?

has anyone experienced an erractic oil temp? My oil temp is reading all over the place within seconds after is been warm up. The oil temp sensor has been replaced and problem persists.
I have searched and some says that replacing their injectors have fixed. Any logic to that? Of course i dont want to spend unnecessary money if is something else.
Help would be appreciated.

Could the gauge be broken? Have you had any codes? Could the sensor be defective that you replaced?

Replacing injectors worked for me. I replaced the temp sensor first and it didn’t help. Replaced the injectors and it went away. And the car felt way peppier too. It must have needed them.

It’s common with the m156. My oil temps reach 280 on spirited runs. Try rinsing off the oil cooler with water the next time you wash the car. Point the pressure washer into the radiator and oil cooler. Hit two birds with one stone while your at it mate.

thats not the issue. His temps jump like 30, 40, 50 degrees per second. The temps will rise under load like normal and then when you lift off the throttle they will jump around and drop, sometimes below 176 like the motor isnt warmed up due to the fuel leaking from them and cooling things off. He is talking about huge swings in temp over matters of seconds.
