Please help, Do I need a new radiator?

Hello All,
I have messaged a few people but haven't heard anything back from anyone. My car just recently started leaking coolant from the flush valve that is used for draining the coolant. Since it was leaking, I figured I would buy some coolant/antifreeze and just do a coolant change while figuring out why the valve is leaking. when's getting access to the valve, I started to turn the valve counterclockwise, which seemed unbelievably easy to do with my fingers. Fast forward a little bit, now that the coolant has drained and I am ready to do the flush. When I twist the valve back to the closed position, it just keeps spinning instead of stopping. It will just keep spinning and spinning. At this point I knew something must be wrong between how easy it came loose and the fact that it just kept spinning without locking closed. Then the piece just popped out. After inspecting the valve, you can tell it is clearly broken.

sorry for the long story, now my question. Is this a piece that can be replaced, or do I have to purchase a new radiator? It's hard to tell from the angle, but it looks like the piece might be replaceable, but the dealership does not sell the valve by itself. does anybody have any insight on this? If I buy a radiator, can I just take the valve out of the new radiator and put it in the one I have now?

any help would be greatly appreciated. I just got my car back from the shop after getting a lot of work done to it, and this was the last thing I needed to have happen. I am going to take a picture of the valve in just a minute, and I'll post it in this thread.

The threads on the plastic screw probably broke but would need to see the skrew and radiator piece to confirm. If the female end in the radiator has somehow come off then You pretty much need a new radiator unless you want to do some custom repair job that will probably remove your ability to drain coolant from the radiator after.

thank you for the reply. The female section that is part of the radiator is completely intact, and you could see the little locking notches. It's the male piece that is broken. I just took some photos and I'm trying to log online through Tapatalk to post them. To me, it seems like it would be an easy fix if they sell this valve or type of plug. I'm just not sure what the other end of the male plug looks like before breaking, so I'm unaware if it will slip in or not.

Luckily, I was able to use a pick to pull the broken piece out of the female section of the radiator.

Yes threads just broke off I believe there is a plastic hitch to hold the plug in from coming completely out but if you had one you could remove that or find a screw with the same threading to put. Just make sure it has a
o ring to seal well after. Save you putting a new radiator in just for a new plug.

You are seriously a lifesaver, that is exactly what I'm looking for! the funny thing is, I only turned it 180 degrees. I did the first counterclockwise quarter-turn, then the second counterclockwise quarter-turn, to make it 180 degrees. The problem is, when I turned it clockwise 180 degrees, instead of locking, it broke. I seriously can't thank you enough, it looks like the part number on the bag is the part number to the part?

Thank you for your help! from what Jason also posted, it looks like I should just be able to buy the plug. This makes me happy to know I don't have to replace the entire radiator. I was at the dealership with the parts department manager for almost an hour trying to find this part to no avail.

NP, once it's in the open position (180° CCW) it pulls straight out with a bit of resistance from the o-rings.
