New to me 507 sedán; preventive maintenance program.

I have just purchased a 2014 Polar White w/ black interior 507 sedan with 18750 miles on the odometer. Had PPI performed by my MB master mechanic and inspection came out ok. with nothing more than one tire with a bulge, non original battery, front brake pads & air filters. As I do when purchasing a used car, I will perform some preventive maintenace before starting regular use of the car; this will include: change brake fluid (to MB specs.) , change air and cabin filters (to MB specs.) , change oil & oil filter (Liqui Molly Leichtlauf 5W-40+Ceratec, including oil cooler drain), change gearbox oil and filter (to MB specs.), change power steering fluid (to MB specs.), change differential oil (to MB specs.), change front brake pads (to MB specs.), checking all drains, change engine coolant including radiator drain (50% MB spec. coolant 50% de-mineralized, non de-ionized distilled water+Water Wetter), new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on stock sizes, changing belt, Weistec pulleys and Weistec catch can. I would be very grateful for you views and suggestios on my plan as well as with your opinion on my choice of engine oil and coolant mix. Best regards.

Sounds all good, do you have the service records for the car, the trans is ever 4 years or 40k miles if I recall, so was technically due a year or 2 ago, so would not need done if it was done as scheduled. Coolant is 15 years 150k miles, I would replace more often than that so maybe not necessary but cheap enough to do anyway, I probably wouldn't do water wetter but it you really want to, the recommendation is the diesel version as the regular version may not play well with the corrosion properties of the OEM coolant.

Congrats on the car, I also have a 14 polar white 507 sedan with the black and white interior on mine.

I recommend getting an OEM battery. Soon after I got mine I was having weird electrical issues because the previous owner put in an after market battery. The MB master mechanic simply replaced it with OEM and haven't had a single issue since.

I perform oil analysis on mine on every oil change. I save oil samples and get them analyzed after a year. Good indicator of engine health and feedback on your oil change frequency and driving habits.

Thanks to all for your kind replies. Roadkillrob; thanks for the heads up on the Water Wetter! I will not use it then. Is there any other cooler additive which might be useful/worthwhile? Thanks checkOrHold for the tip on the OEM battery! it is now on the list. Thanks for the congrats lemonstand. Thanks for you suggestion on the oil anlalysis go team; however, I live in Mexico CVity and we just don´t have that kind of service provider down here. What would you think about the Liqui Mollt engine flush; would it be worthwhile/appropriate to do it now or ever? Best!

If you are just going to road drive the car really no need for anything, if you are tracking it then maybe will help, just do the diesel version of the Water Wetter without all the extra additives that may not mix well.

go_team,

Who do you use for the oil analysis? I have a 2014 C63 507 sedan, and am looking to sell it if I can find a nice E63 in the W212 (2014-2016) style. I thought about using a pre-purchase inspection and an oil analysis to give me a general look on the health of the motor. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks

I too have just purchased a 2015 C63 507 and love it. I had a 993 Twin Turbo before, but this thing is way more fun to drive! I was looking over this forum to see just how wide I could go on the tire sizing for both front and rear while keeping the factory 507 rims. I cant believe how easy it is for the back to step out and it always seems like it is fighting for traction with those skinny 255/30 -19's
