I heard some bad things about K&N filters. I'm looking for the best filter that doesn't cause issues but also allows for the best performance possible. What are you all using? Thanks.

Don't use anything oiled as it can gum up the MAF's so AFE pro dry or equivalent - OEM are fine, they flow decent when clean just need to either replace them regularly to keep the clean or get dry washable filters and clean them regularly.

I’ve had the k&n in my c63 for 4 years no issues. Just recently cleaned it up with the k&n cleaner and looks new again

K&N gets a bad rap because people over oil them and oil migrates everywhere. If you clean them and *lightly oil them" they're fine.

I like the low maintenance of the AFE pro dry filters. Very easy to care and clean and money wise, probably the best value.

I was looking at the AFE's. What size fits the ROW air boxes?

Dry filters have come a long way over the years and, as a result, oiled filters don't have the advantage that they used to.

I went with Weistec filters for the SL and have been very happy with them. The S55 has aFe dry filters installed (also great).

Same here. If you overoil them, and that's easy to do if you're impatient, then they can make a mess but follow the directions and they're fine. The dry filters though have no such caveats though so probably safer/easier to go with those tbh.
