This site is even clearer about the results. http://www.gtsparkplugs.com/WheelOffsetCalc.html

Every inch change in wheel width is worth ~13mm in offset change (wheel width in inches, offset is in millimeters, 1”=25.4mm).

So if I change my wheel width in back from 10” to 9”, I’d want a +39 offset to keep the outside lip in the exact same plane as it’s in now (reduces total width by 25.4mm, divide that in half you get the 13mm that you need to shift the wheel center line back out, push the wheel out is lower offset, so you get 52-13=39), but that also means I would have a huge gap to the strut. That’s essentially what you’re asking about.

So a +38 will likely work fine for you depending on tire width (you may have to trim the bumper clip), but it’s pretty far from an ideal fitment.

Every inch change in wheel width is worth 13.5mm in offset change (wheel width in inches, offset is in millimeters, 1”=27mm).

So if I change my wheel width in back from 10” to 9”, I’d want a +38/39 offset to keep the outside lip in the exact same plane as it’s in now (reduces total width by 27mm, divide that in half you get the 13.5mm that you need to shift the wheel center line back out, push the wheel out is lower offset, so you get 52-13.5=38.5), but that also means I would have a huge gap to the strut. That’s essentially what you’re asking about.

yeah, I think I’m going to go with the Niche Rainers M240s... 19x8.5 +42 and 19x9.5 +50... Thank you for explaining some of the stuff on there... Like I said, I’m dealing with this shop thats giving me a lot of back and forth answers and there trying to convince me on the 20x9 +38... I made the mistake of mentioning 20s to them in the first place... oh well.

BTW it’s also worth noting that I do run aggressive offsets, so YMMV. Just wanted you to have the info and tools to make a decision. @Roswell would have probably been the best guy on fitment issues like this but he hasn’t been around for awhile. @Mort will probably correct me here if I’m wrong.

You could’ve bought these wheels and tires for almost the same price.

Asking one more time, 19x9.5 +50 in the rear of my 2010 Mercedes c63 amg will work? I have stock 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear. There saying 50 may be cutting it close, they suggested +38.

fyi, these are concave wheels... Niche Rainer M240.

Built 2008 G55 & one big 80 Series LandCruiser !
My build to spec before widebodying were 19x9.5 et 48 rear with a 275/30/19 - 255 in front on 19x8.5 et 40

those were spot on. ET50 might work..... might.

what about the tire size with 19x9.5 +50 with 255/265 ... /30/19

niche recommended front 19x8.5 +42 paired with rear19x9.5 +50.... but I don’t believe them cause they also said 20x10 +38 would work in the rears with 285/35/20.

19x9.5 +50 with 265/30 will fit no problems
Fronts 19x8.5 +42 with 245/35 will be perfect.

Even with a 45 offset rear you would need to run a 255 tire to "maybe" clear the outer fender so no gain in rubber on ground.
With option 2 above you can run 245/35x19 on front and 275/30x19 on rear, No Rubbing.

this is correct info
