Operating temp
Today outside temp was 100 degrees even, in Colorado, we have some wildfires going on and its very hazy, bad air quality, everything. Went driving in manual mode for a while, stop and go traffic.
I noticed as I was pulling into the neighborhood my oil temp was like, 235°F?? Coolant still about 197°F.
Took it back out about 15-20 mins later and used manual and sport and oil ran about 226°F consistently. Coolant the same at 197°F.
Again I've never noticed it that hot before, also today is truly a very hot day, bad air quality, and didnt go over 45mph the whole deive. Mentioning that because ive been told these engines run cooler at higher speeds.
Thanks guys!

Regardless of speed, in traffic when airflow is poor following cars, is when you’ll see unusual spikes like that.
Upgrading coolers... could you elaborate? Part number? Whats the install like? (If you did install)

Also plan to remove the side auxiliary oil cooler fan (like the 440 option) for the time being to see if it runs cooler.
The fan is only really of benefit in heavy traffic otherwise it stifles the air flow when moving at speed.

And for the record, whether you’re using synthetic oil or not, anything over 280F should require an oil change as soon as possible. It’s no bueno.
