Is this the finned diff cover?

Hello, so I have this 09 Euro model P30 and wondering if this is the diff cover everyone talks about (not available on usa model?) is this the same as the BS?

will this be good for track days?

That's the C63 diff cover that standard on PP Aussie models.
As for the black series I thought they had an active diff cooler with external oil cooler.

Yes, that’s the ‘rectifier’. It makes little difference.

Cwagon is talking about the optional “Track Pack” for the BS which comes with active diff cooling among other things.

Have you tested this before/after or know someone who has? This was on my list for the off season but I didn't record any diff temps. I figured better than nothing but if it's pointless to swap I won't bother.

I didn’t take measurements. But Wobble64 was puking diff oil on track before installing the rectifier, and it lessened after.

For serious track duty you'd probably want an active diff cooling solution of some sort. I am sure the casing with the fins helps somewhat, but it is not going to be enough if you're going to be torturing the LSD unless your clutch packs are completely worn out. The finned "rectifier" may be sufficient for an aftermarket gear-based diff (Torsen or helical) as these generally don't produce as much heat.
