Im using a similar one and it does work. I did put a stainless steel sponge on the inlet side to help trap the oil.

hi guys just received it with no instructions .
where does the steel wool go? all inside the can or just a small piece in the compartment in the intake path?

I placed an aluminum division so the air is forced down one side of the catch can where the wool is trapping the oil. Then air exits the other side; like a U shape path.

Yes you still need a pcv, actually the pcv that comes with the car.
You use that kit above to plumb the catch can lines between the PCV valve and the inlet manifold .
