Car No Longer Sounds the Same? Help please.
I run MBH headers and mids for my 09 c63.
Last month I got a deal for an agency power valvetronic catback.
I installed it and it was great for about a month, but with the valvetronic catback it definitely quieted down the car even with the valves open it wasn't as loud as the stock catback setup. I also have a OE tune on the car now.
So I put the stock catback onto the car with the headers and mids.
But now, i lost my cold start??
The cold start with the stock catback used to be crazy loud but now after i put the stock catback onto the car its no longer as loud as before?
My friend has a 2011 c63 same setup MBH header and mids and stock catback and OE tune.
We were side by side starting the car and his is definitely louder very noticeable.
Anybody know what couldve caused this?

How long was your car sitting / cooling when you and your friend started side by side? Did you drive to him? Did he drive to you?
It's not going to "cold start" every time, especially if it is warm already.

if the engine coolant temp is less than around 25C you'll get cold start for sure. there is no way to remove it entirely from the factory computer from what i've seen.

We didn't have cold starts at that moment but even just starting the car up his start up had a louder burst while mine was alot quieter and we have the same exact setup.
we live in the same area upstate NY its cold but my cold starts over night are no longer loud like it used to be but his still are very loud.

We have the same setup and eveything but I just dont understand why his car is so much louder after i removed the AP valvetronic and went back to stock catback.
Also his cold start rumbles a lot longer, mine will rumble then the RPMs drop quickly and it goes quiet.
We both left our cars sitting over night but the sound difference is night and day.

can't speak to either of your vehicles but my custom tunes have loud startups. louder than any other tune. you said your was loud before on the same tune and is now not so loud. can't say it is one thing or the other.
a change of exhaust system then back shouldn't remove a loud start that you had previously with the other exhaust system. did you reset your trims? reset of engine codes even blank ones will reset your trims for fuel and ignition.

mind me asking what tune you have to make the car louder?

Then i tried the OE Tune and still the same.
Cant figure out why 2 cars with the same exact setup can sound so different.

well if it really bothers you enough you could reach out to me for a tune. i've had one of my catless customers ask me to tone it down once before because cold start was too aggressive.

I have OE stage 2 tune.
My car basically sounds like it has no headers but is catless lol
