2012 C63 with power peak at 8000+ RPM?
I was curious as to whether anyone had ever designed a camshaft for the C63 to make a power peak between 8000 and 9000 RPM? I was interested in 700-900 HP N/A.
In my imagination a good set of long tube headers, the SLS intake manifolds, ECU tuning and the right camshaft would get it done.

Keep dreaming. It takes a lot more than that to reach that kind of power NA. The highest power NA car is dkjenis at 582whp (look him up on IG or search here). He probably has $500k+ in that car, it revs to 9k, and absolutely nothing was left untouched. Good luck

Nobodies dreaming. I'm not talking about RWHP, I'm talking about at the engine. NASCAR was making 750 HP N/A with restrictor plates and heads that flow around 400 CFM on the intake ports. Unrestricted those 351 CI engines make 800-900 HP N/A. The power peak is around 9000RPM.
With more cubes and DOHC, 700+ HP N/A should be well within the realm of possibility on the C63. We also were doing it on the ford and chevy side all day long with heads that flow around 400CFM on the intakes. With 350-427 cubic inches.

It's 376 cubic inches. So the heads in this build flow 365 CFM on the intake port.
The build used 12.5-1 compression, and a 272/288 @ .050" camshaft with .780" lift. The exhaust was a 1 7/8" step to 2" long tube header. Guys are making more power out of heads that flow more. He had 2" of vacuum at wide open throttle indicating that there was a huge flow restriction. This build would've made closer to 900 HP with a head that flows 400-425 CFM on the intake.

Isn't there another member here with that power with just few bolt ons but a super duper tune?

anything is possible...you'll need a CNC ported head, custom high lift camshafts, custom dual valve springs, custom titanium retainers, custom 16:1 compression pistons, custom titanium rods, custom dry sump, custom CNC ported head, custom manifold or individual throttle bodies, custom tuned 2 inch primaries or larger headers, etc.
do you have 50k to spend? the upside to all of this is, the factory computer when properly tuned can run this setup no problem...oh you'll need a custom transmission. not sure how the transmission will take 9k.

CI is barely a part of the equation. An F1 engine is 1.6L (so <100 CI) and those things make almost 1000hp with ERS and north of 700 v6 alone.

Sure we have the goods. DOHC for stability at high rpm with lower valve spring pressures required. Heads that flow mid 300's from the factory at only .5" of lift. With porting at 400CFM or slightly over at only .5" of valve lift. 382 cubic inches of displacement. The SLS intake manifold is a shorter runner that flows over 400 CFM and they are a perfect cross section for the cyllinder heads.
I think we can make power peak at 8500-9500 RPM and do it more reliably due to the DOHC design.

It is going to cost more then the car is worth and may not hit your goals. If you want the power supercharge it much cheaper solution. What your talking about sounds like dreams and a whole lot of wasted money.

a non MBWorld member has 14.5 compression individual ITB M156 putting down 583 hub HP on a Bosch Motorsports ECU. Stock camshafts, stock heads. camshafts will add 30-70 hub HP depending on spec and if compression was 16.1 we could probably add another 3% to HP. if we factor in a ported head...we're mighty close to 700whp. i believe he's also dry sump as well. maybe 650-680 hub HP with all that bench racing math interwebs factual data cause its the interwebs.

That’s also a full DTM replica, probably weighs 2500lbs, and the guy who built it designs spaceships as his full-time job. He has an unusually high level of expertise and access to machinery and tools that 99.9% of us could only dream of. And everything is one-off, including the titanium 16:1 pistons and con rods he’s making now.
Of course it can be done (although very obviously not just cams, headers and intake). 583whp has to be right around 700hp at the engine. But who in their right mind is going to do it, or would pour that kind of money into a C class Merc? Unless you have tens of thousands (probably much more) of dollars and hundreds of man hours to burn or are sponsored, why even bother with this kind of mental masturbation. Go talk to David on IG, he responds to messages and can get your head straightened out on what this really takes.

I knew there had to be some datapoints out there. So on these 400CI ford and chevies, they are getting all the way up to 1100 and 1200 HP at the engine N/A. They are spun high and the heads flow around 450 CFM to get it done.
Here goes a 1100HP build in the Chevy world:
