ThunderHill 5 Mile First Experience
Took the C63 to Thunderhill this past Saturday, first track session ever and gotta say it was a great experience! Pretty surprised theres not many AMGs out on the track, only saw another fellow w205 c63s out of tons of M's and Miatas. We did the 5 mile course and the track favors more suspension work than power, it was pretty difficult not to over steer some of the long sweepers. I'm glad thunderhill doesn't have any walls I went off track the second session due to some blind turns I wasn't keeping a reminder of lol. Brakes did a great job I felt like I was riding on them more than I should've and tried to keep the power through some of the turns. The PS4S held really well till they started to feel like slicks after a couple laps, even then they still maintained grip. I'm really glad I purchased the cooler from SRG, temps maintained around 240 and saw it hit about 255 at one point. Other than that a great experience and glad I left the track in one piece. Definitely looking to add KW DDCs before my next session. Mods and Vid below you can excuse my passengers tips and comments lol.

Thanks for sharing! You looked pretty good for being first time out, esp in such a powerful car. I had no idea Thunderhill had a 5 mile configuration - looks like a lot of fun.
What were the ambient temps that day? Running stock brake pads?

Don’t have a pic of the setup but its pretty simple. Suction cup on the inside of sunroof. Set the go pro as upside down. Use extensions to whatever position you like.

I've never taken a car equipped with a sunroof to the track before, so that thought completely skipped my mind. Nice!
Attempting, as in issues getting into events because of novice standing? (I know most organizations, at least in the 2nd half of 2020, didn't allow green groups and/or in car instruction). Or having difficulty locating a good event?

HOD does Summit Point a few times a year. And PDE/NASA do VIR at least a half dozen times a year. Both are fun tracks within a couple hours. I love VIR.
Even NJMP is within 2hrs of you probably and they have tons of groups running HPDE (I can put you in touch with a guy who organizes probably 20 events a summer there).
