722.9 Trans service - OE Upgrade Available
Whats up guys, Just taking care of some basic maintenance stuff and came across the below trans pan kit upgrade for PFL c63's.
FCP is stating that the trans pan on the 2012+ Cars are deeper, presumably holding more fluid. So they sell it in this kit as an upgrade.
I have the Weistec pan, but found this interesting for anyone who can verify if the 2012+ do hold more fluid.

The only tangible benefit of this pan is the ability to run to the improved filter. What FCP doesn't advertise is that there is barely any extra fluid capacity.
Still worth it, IMO. Just setting expectations.

They list it (5mm deeper) in the blog I linked above which is maybe 1-200mm more fluid.

My conductor plate went bad recently and in gathering parts for the replacement i fell for this upsell. I ended up buying the parts for a little cheaper through MBCovington. My indy shop (Modern Mercedes) installed it but they didn't seem too impressed. Their comment was they'd saved that $40–50 for something else.

I pulled the trigger on the updated trans filter, good to know it works with the older red fluid as well.

I only saw the headline and lead blurb so was viewing it from the deeper pan selling point. If it was just to switch to the newer style filter I wouldn't have bothered. I'm used to old Chevys where swapping to a larger pan means an extra quart or two of capacity. It was mitigated a bit that I bought the newer filter and pan through MB directly for $40 less than FCP, still $70 above and beyond what I had to spend anyways.

I just bought the upgraded pan/filter kit from fcp euro to replace my 09' w211 filter pan since I am doing hte 40k trans fluid service. (red fluid).
the fill pipe that came with the new pan is green and is shorter than the white fill pipe on my old pan. Did those that got the FCP kit use the green fill pipe or your white one? Seems like if you use the green one the fluid isn't going ot be as high as the white one? I can't get clarity on this anywhere...
Thanks,
-Nigel
