Exhaust mods: Cut Secondary Cats, Cut resonator, or both?

Just got my p31 204! Super excited and really love the car but I think it needs more sounds. I've seen people do just resonator deletes or just cat deletes, and both but I am not sure what I want. I'd appreciate some recommendations and opinions! Thanks guys.

There are many threads here already discussing pros and cons and opinions as it relates to your question. Have you thought about looking at those or posing a reply to those before starting another new thread on the same thing?

My rec, your choice of LTH, Mid-Pipes, X-pipe . I personally went with MBH on both of my w204s. While I run this setup I plan to switch it up with Akrapovic titanium exhaust. But I’m still waiting for MBH goodies to come in first.

Youtube will be your best friend for sound clips. You can search any combination and someone has done it and uploaded it on youtube. “C63 w204 lth” or “c63 mid pipes x pipe”... etc....

Use google and add "site:mbworld.org" at the end of your search. It's easier than using the forum search.

Example: c63 res delete site:mbworld.org

I love the sound of my 2nd Cat/Res delete with an H-pipe but it still isn't loud enough. Res + 2 Cat delete is not loud, IMO.

Sound Clip: 2012 C63 Base with Secondary Cat and Res Delete

I've personally had this setup on all my C63's, and so far it's the best bang for the buck exhaust job. It's enough to satisfy a modest itch before committing to move onto LTH or full cat-backs.
All secrecy aside here's the setup in case you're new:
- Primary Catalytic Converters (untouched)
- Secondary Catalytic Converters (removed and replaced with a Magnaflow 2.5-inch x-pipe $100 Amazon)
- Resonator (removed and replaced with straight pipes leading from the x-pipe to the mufflers)
- Mufflers (untouched)

2nd cat delete

IMHO, the best combination is replacing the secondary cats with straight pipes. Leave the primary cats and resonator as is.
It turns up the volume of the great sounding stock C63.

I second that... for now. LTH and X-pipe going in next week!
