This is my first MB (2012 W204) and its everything that I wished for for a summer car. Its LOUD! I have to watch my throttle when I'm driving in town and even with that I think I'll eventually get pulled over so I'm looking for mufflers (or catback system). I read plenty of excellent threads through MBWorld and watched Youtube videos on the different options. Since I don't have any muffler to start with, would you recommend:
A) Purchase a used C63 OEM muffler (about 970$-750$ CAD)
B) Go for a cheaper aftermarket option (i.e. X-Force - 1500$)
C) Go for a Eisenmann cat-back (4000$)
D) Go for any of the valvetronic (4000$)
I understand A-D will have their own distinct tones. For now, if I put them in order of preference: A, C, D, B. Stock seems to be my best choice as the sound is great and it's cost effective. The Eisenmann is made in Germany and seems to have a little more aggressive note. Valvetronics would give me option to be as loud as now when I want. I'm curious in what order would you put these options and why?
Here's a pic of the current setup: Current exhaust setup
I vote go Stock "A" otherwise you loose that distinctive M156 C63 sound track that these cars are famous for.
Your car already has centre resonater delete so just get the OEM rear mufflers.
The OEM rears are still good enough even if you fit LTH, long tube headers and high flow cats or no cats depending on where you live.
The stock mufflers don't quiet things down very much. I picked up a set of E55 mufflers since those guys usually throw our mufflers onto their cars to get some extra noise. I haven't yet tried to fit them into our placement but they look like they might just fit.
You're also missing the stock resonator. Adding that back in makes for a much better sounding exhaust note (to my ears anyway).
stock or ARH full cat back. I don't really like the sound of the X-Force system. Since you're already that hacked up, you could try one of those new aftermarket mufflers that flow well but cut sound.

The resonators in combination with the mufflers will give you that distinctive AMG grunt. Just mufflers will not do it. The resonator has a little H pipe in it which I think does it.
G Money is on the money, nobody suspects a c-class to be that loud.
Thank you all for the advices, I found some some local OEM mufflers so I'll give it a try. I don't have any resonators at hand, would there be another solution to get the amg sound?
I actually just got the car wrap, the paint was in a bad shape:
I'm picking the mufflers this we, I'll see with the shop if they can also do an h-pipe in the place of the res. I'll post a vid once it's all installed.
