At least the nightmare is almost over.
Going to go FBO once it’s all sorted. E85 is really up and down around here quality wise from what I have heard, but at least we have 93.
im going to sell my current engine or turn it into one of those cool coffee tables.
AMGs definitely aren’t for the faint of heart or maybe I just have bad luck with shops.

It’s alive, still tracing down every last little electrical issue but the car is 99.9% there ESL decided to die at some point during all of this, My local Dealership VinDevers was unwilling to even run diagnostics on ESL so I’m rebuilding it which has been “fun”. Fortunately it failed Open instead of close during the “inaugural Drive”
While I have the interior opened up I’m going to go a little further and put in CarPlay.

Off and On. Insurance company paid for a new harness that took around a month. I originally was going to document this journey but I didn’t think there’d be much value to it as it’s stuff that I don’t think anyone will ever encounter. I did end up grabbing another engine. I’m going to rebuild my existing engine as the walls seem undamaged.

I've skimmed back and forth through the thread a couple of times but can't find the catastrophic failure 🤔

no valve collision
I got a 77K mile engine out of a E63 for around $5500 which is a pretty good deal in my book. Carries a 2 year warranty as well.

Definitely fix your engine and then sell it. You may break even that way.

Cams and buckets look fine. No rattle on startup but will probably have to do adjusters at some point.

I’m back, it’s back, and I made mistake, fortunately not a costly one.
Corrosion on the head aside, look at the radiator fan and you’ll see the mistake I made.
