Opinion on Takata Airbag recall ?

Hello

im owning my C63 now for 2 months, did a few things on the car so far to personalize the car, i however by accident figured on the Mercedes Benz Website that i still have an Recall open,
which says Takata Airbag, my question is, is it just the Steering wheel airbag or also passenger side and seats?, as i changed interior seats, i was also planning on installing an Facelift Steering wheel with the part number: A2044605303 (the wheel flat on the top and bottom)
so basicly im changing to a different airbag also.

greetings
Wesley

In my case, it was both the Steering wheel and Passenger side- 2013 AMG C63

If I remember on mine, they replaced both the driver and passenger front airbags. I'm not sure if any newer equipment would have the new airbags, I would hope but, best to check with the dealer.

I have a 2012 sedan and they only changed the passenger side airbag.

It depends on the car. It was only the passenger side front airbag on my 2013. It depends on when exactly your particular car was made vs. when they ran out of the "faulty batch" of Takata air bags for the driver side. Only way to know is by your VIN.

My car was only the passenger front. 2014 coupe but as was said earlier, it all depends on your VIN.

allright, then now i know its going to be either both steering wheel and dash, (i dont hope they have to take the entire dashboard out of the car to reach the airbag :O...
and i now also got the idea its not just the Pre-Facelift but also the Facelift models that got hit by this recall...

i will let the Dealer know i mounted a facelift steering wheel in my pre-facelift car.

thnx all

so This happend to me,

i went at the dealer, and they could not see anything about Airbag recall left open,
the Mercedes Benz website does say its open, but in the dealer system not, however there was one other recall or what the Dealer called it ''KDM Action" left open with a code called : 219MMAC

so basicly the dealer told me its all good, however today i tried to change steering wheels from a Pre-facelift original C63 steering wheel to a facelift steering wheel and i got stuck on the 5black wire purple connector against 3coloured wires on purple connector of the pre-facelift wheel. on the back of the airbag of my original one it says 2008 (same as the build of my car) which tells me the airbag has never been replaced...

what advice would you guys give me ?

off the record, the airbag that came with my facelifted steering wheel is from 2012

My 2013 was only passenger airbag and took the dealer a couple of hours to fix.
