2016 GTs, 2014 C63 AMG and 2014 C350 Sport (wife's car, she thinks it's an AMG - shhhhhh)
Thanks ALL and See You Around!
Hi All,
Thanks for all the incredible advice over the last 4+ years.
It finally happened... I was bored. I went to the stealership. They offered me more for my C63 than I paid for it 4+ years ago. And then this happened
I'll still be around... just jumping forums for now.

Coming from the W203 (c32 and C55) and then a facelift C63, I'm having a hard time thinking about getting something like a GT. Awesome car, but coming from the previous models I'm used to have "real buttons" for things like the radio and shift knob between the seats. I find myself using both the paddles and the shift knob currently. I hated driving a C300 with the only gear options on the steering column. What did you find you missed from the old car vs the new?

That's the Cardinal Red Metallic. I wasn't a fan at first but it's growing on me. It offers a lot of different colors that pop depending on the light source. It looks like a burgundy in low light and like Candy Apple in the sun.

That said, the GT is a different beast altogether since it was the first AMG build from the ground up so it doesn't share the goofy crap of the new platforms. It has a console shifter (albeit without a manual option). I always used the paddles for that anyway. Also the modes (C, S, and Race) all 'do' a lot more than on any other series - everything from suspension to exhaust cut-off.
As someone else mentioned, I agree that it's about the only model in the current lineup that I'd consider an upgrade from a 204 C63

The sls drive's almost identical to the GT series as far as handling, feedback, over all feel. The big difference is the lack of low end torque and way more top end power in the SLS. SLS is going to be an absolute killer on the track, big n/a linear power. The GT is way better as a daily with. gobs of low end turbo torque, top end is still good just not comparable to 6.2L of v8 at 7000rpm or 8000rpm in the black series. Also stock sls tuning has horribly sensitive throttle making the car very difficult to take off from stop lights smoothly. Naturally the GT is much more polished and refined on the stock tuning, dct tuning, and more unique interior with less recycled odd ball parts from other lesser models. GT also has a lot more leg room. Sls if you're over 6ft you will not be comfortable. The GT can fit 6'7" well.
I was really hoping to see the normal AMG depreciation scale and snag one to add to my fleet when they hit the $40k's after 4-5yrs..... jokes on me. Ever since the 205 came out, all of a sudden AMG's are hot cars and holding their value well. Cheapest I ever saw was in the mid 60k's. Then covid....prices nearly doubled. lol. Looks like I wont be getting one anytime soon .
