Has anyone used a MagnaFlow 11386 a xpipe
having trouble finding a w204 OEM resonator, ebay sellers are smoking with the prices they are asking. just wondering has anyone done this muffler in place of the oem resonator, nice to kill two birds with one stone bc i wanted to add a xpipe to this nasty straight pipe setup im using(sounds horriable).

It does have a built in X pipe. Magnaflow calls it a Tru-X muffler. Looking into the pipe you can see the insides converge into an X. Purchased the exact one years ago but never installed it, ended up going with a regular x pipe instead.

I shy'd away from doing this after hearing that it could be tricky mating the oem pipes to it bc the separation of the resonator pipes may not be exact to the oem.
The worst thing i heard was the baffling fails at a high rate so i crossed this one off my list and im currently looking for a oem resonator.
im currently straight piped from the last owner and its just disgusting, was going to try this as a bandaid till i get headers in.
but damn have these ebay guys inflated the cost of a c63 resonators such a **** show.
imagine paying 200-300 for a amg resonator lol i remeber throwing my resonator in the garbage when i insttalled headers on my last amg lol

im curious if anyone can verify if all the m156 resonator fit the same. i know their piping length is different but the resonator as a whole, is it identical to the c63 one.

the orginal owner did a 2.5 inch cat delete setup, straight pipe, car is a project car but needed something to quiet the car for now, seems the best option right now is to add the resonater so when i add longtubes i can route them to the resonator. i believe that would be the best option for me. will also be adding a xpipe.
setup will be lth xpipe to resonatoer oem.

I ended up getting one from a member here locally for 100$ So now i will be straight pipe to resonator. I want to keep the full exhaust a 2.5inch to help with sound levels. Yes i know that is a far fetched thing to say lol but i think 2.5 vs 3 inch will be a difference in decibels. i think im going to go with a 3 inch header then a 2.5 flange to custom 2.5 xpipe then to resonator. Should be more nieghbor friendly. if that doesnt work ill add 200 cell cats. just piecing this car little by little, becoming somewhat of a project.
