Fan like noise on passenger side bottom air intake
2012 c63 AMG coupe - Just recently I’ve noticed a whining or more like a fan noise always on when the car is on. The engine isn’t getting to hot and it will turn on even if I have just the battery on. You can specifically hear it coming from the passenger side bottom air intake and I just bought this car back in December so I’ve not been familiar with working on a c63 before. This is the shortest video it will let me post if it helps at all. Any advice would be great!

I have searched for quite some time and haven’t found a similar problem or solution to mine. I have seen people talking about their fan running but mainly due to their oil temps getting to high or a similar issue in that regard. For me not only will the fan run constantly all the time even with normal driving but even after a day or two of it sitting and not even starting the engine but leaving just the battery on it still activated like the cpu is stuck thinking the oil temp is too high. Will more than likely be taking it to Mercedes but wanted to save some money on the more than likely $1500 labor cost it’ll be if I go through with it

Wait. You’re saying it runs all the time, even when the car has been off for days?

It’s not critical, if it is indeed FUBAR and you want to save a few bucks you could just remove the fan, fuses and relay and likely not notice any difference unless you’re tracking the car.
