Gutting out primary cat....with pics......
Ok, I'm on a limited budget for now, I'm getting the eurocharged tune but i also want the loudest sound possible (obviously already done everything else exhaust wise). Did anyone go the gutting out option? Will this give me that good lth sound for now? Does gutting out the cat require to remove the headers?....thanks for any input....

Why gut them when you can sell them for like 1200 for the cats, then just buy some armytrix cat less front pipes they bolt in to existing headers and to resonator no mods required just unbolt front section and bolt them in and they are like 900 bucks vrp has a similar primary cat delete pipe I think for even less so you can make money doing it a better way!

It will definitely make it much louder I used to run the armytix pipes with 200 cell race cats and even that was a lot louder. Primary cats are what kill most of the noise and the secondaries pretty much the rest of the noise. Resonator and mufflers don’t reduce the noise a lot.

The cats are worth ~1200 us... how can the shipping make that not profitable? Like was said you are better off buying or simplying welding in a pipe to replace and sell the cats. But yes gutting them or emoting them will make the car substantially louder

he lives on an island. I live in Hawaii. I needed to ship a 55 lb roof rack that came in pieces for assembly. $450 shipping. Shipping the cats off and then shipping new stuff on might bring him close to netting only $5-600, not including the cost of the test pipes.

This hurts my eyes.
goodluck OP!
PS, I’ve had sets shipped in from New Zealand, Nigeria, Hawaii with shipping costs ranging from $185-$300 max.
The guts of those primaries are valued anywhere between $350-$500 a side, that’s $700-$1000 for the pair.

Pardon my forgetfulness but are you the same dude who said he may or may not be able to afford to replace the headbolts on his 09?
You should probably do that first if thats you....

I mean what are the odds that a 19k miles car that was meticulously maintained for 13 years, driven regular once in a while that as soon as I start driving it i get the headbolt issue? I have to be really unlucky........ There are hundreds if not thousands of owners don't know about the headbolts issue and enjoy their car for many years ...still i will do the job but i can't stress about it as soon as I bought the car..... Can't wait to upload the tune.....
