What mode do you drive in?

What mode do you drive in daily. C, S, S+. And does it affect the engine or transmission’s longevity?

C specially when motorway driving, or then S+ when doing some passes and the occasional M in the mix

Usually S or S+ for mixed driving. Exceptions are:

-C if I'm on a long highway drive.
-M if I'm on a nice mountain road or data logging.

Mostly C when driving around town, to and back from work.
S or M when driving spiritedly and trying to enjoy de car.
No S+ on mine as it’s a PFL car.

I’d do M a lot more if the delay between paddle input and actual shift was smaller.

- C on cold starts until engine is up to temps.
- M 98% of the time on street or having fun.
- S+ when racing from a dig or hold left paddle down for optimal gear if doing a rolling pull.

I find M mode w/ MCT to be very responsive as far as rev matching and coming to a stop. MOST TIMES i don't even use my brakes until I’m ready to come to a complete stop 5mph<. I cant remember if my PFL was as enjoyable.

Of course the MCT comes with a price as it can be harsh at times. Almost like riding a wild horse lol

depends on my mood and how aggressive i plan to drive. C and S see equal time. Comfort mode will tend to hold the gears higher numerically and require A LOT of throttle to downshift. power will also be limited in Comfort mode. In S or S+, the TCU will react to downshift gears with less throttle input and shift times will be quicker. I rarely drive in M mode, only when racing, drag, roll, road racing, etc.

What would be nicer is if the M156 was paired to a gated manual.

Comfort until car is warmed up then M.

For some reason S mode in my PFL downshifts like C and there's no downshift bark.

Want your transmission to live?

Service your car like you care about it and don't buy a $15,000 twin screw thinking you wont need another $10-15,000 to build your transmission.

I was including labor, I didn't want to presume to know their skill set or down time for the vehicle so I figured adding the fact that someone else might be installing it would be thoughtful.

But you're right, the trans itself is reasonably priced from most places.
