Angry BC Coilovers. Br Series W204. Impossible camber adjustment.

I purchased a set of BR series Coilovers for my 2013 C63, installation was straightforward having no issues, however since then it’s been an absolute nightmare. the most reliable shops in my city have been unable to align the car what so ever. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to adjust the camberplate without dropping the coilovers down and making the finite adjustments over and over and over again it’s absurd how many times they’ve had to do this with no result. It’s infuriating to be honest, repetitive removing of the Coilover is causing unnecessary wear and damage to other components in my car. So now I’m at a standstill. I haven’t been able to drive my car for two weeks and soon I’ll need to store the car for winter. I don’t imagine I’ll be able to drive it for the rest of the year and based off the opinions of at least 8 very experienced mechanics I know and two of the best alignment shops in my city, the design and instructions for installing these coils are vague and everyone’s opinion very poor and unclear. It appears other makes and models have very easy access via the mounting plate while mine has zero access. Is the only solution to cut my body to accommodate an access point for the camber to be adjusted ? If this is the case I don’t want this product. Even test driving the car the kit feels like absolute garbage.. I’ve never been so disappointed and unimpressed with a product in my life and my mint flawless impeccable AMG is literally useless to me at the moment with these installed. Had anyone had similar issues with these. I’ve scourd online and forms and there’s very little to no information on this kit installed on my car. If anyone can help. The frustration and feelings from this has left me absolutely gutted and feeling like I’ve wasted about 2500$ on complete trash and my baby is getting beat up trying to make it work.

If it's like the kw camber adjust top, then it's the strut perch at the top there isn't enough room to move things. I cut mine open so I can now move the camber as needed. The only other way Is to do it how you are describing. Although if you got it set you shouldn't really need to adjust it unless you are wanting more camber for a track or changing your ride height

You have to chopy choppy an access window. Sometimes aftermarket upgrades requires some modification.

You must not be going to very good alignment shops, It took my shop two times to drop the kw’s struts in one visit to get the exact degree of camber we wanted to put on.

He put it mostly all way negative, put a bg alignment measurement tool on the wheel, adjusted through the top small hole, put the tool on again, dropped the strut as the opening was too small, adjusted again then put it back up and it was perfect to were we wanted it both sides.

You are right about the bg’s though which are not very good, KW V3’s minimum imo or leave it. I went for KW Clubsports with custom KW springs/helper springs but they would be too harsh for most people.

$1000 coilovers are not an upgrade even for a $20,000 car. Hit the reset button and start over.

YES KNOW IT - THE FRUSTRATION !!

AT K-MAC - WE LONG SINCE “SOLVED” THIS PROBLEM - NOW NO TIME CONSUMING STRUT REMOVAL OR STRUT TOWER MODS !

EASILY ACCESSIBLE AND ULTIMATE - DIRECT ON ALIGNMENT RACK “UNDER LOAD” !

IT IS WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT:
AT K-MAC WE HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF DESIGNING FRONT & REAR ADJUSTABLE STRUT TOPS & BUSHING KITS LONGER THAN ANY OTHER BRAND (SINCE 1964) AUDI to VOLVO - BOLT-ON KITS PROVIDING THE BIGGEST AND QUICKEST ADJUSTMENT SYSTEMS !

No it’s known as the best in the city. I sat there myself on their 3rd day of attempting alignment. Helped them take one side out 6times. It’s literally the worst coiloversetup anyone involved has ever seen. Complete garbage 🗑️

Would still have the same issue with a more expensive option.

I'm wondering how it is that hard to set. As described above you pick one extreme and see where you are at for camber. Say you are at -3.5 and you want -2 or whatever you dial it back a given amount 1/4" and recheck. If the new measurement is now -3 then do 1/2" and recheck. You should be in the ballpark. It's not totally linear but it is close... definitely should have it dialed in after 4-5 times. Then you aren't moving it unless you are changing it for ride height changes or for a certain track. You could mark your tops to the setting so you are simply dropping and moving to your marks each time. Or just cut the tops it doesn't take long...here's a pic of mine just sand it after and a quick paint and done.

AS ABOVE #6 - END THE FRUSTRATION !!
(and do tell the “most reliable shops in the city”)

K-MAC CAMBER & CASTER STRUT MOUNTS $545 PAIR STAGE 2 (STREET / RACE) or STAGE 3 (FULL RACE).

PLUS THEY FIT “FACTORY DIAM.” SPRINGS OR ALL BRANDS OF “COIL OVERS” !

“ONE ONLY” ADJUSTMENT - NOT TWO (LET ALONE SIX) !

AND FAST / ACCURATE…..

FAST - ULTIMATE “FROM ENGINE BAY” …..AND NO CUTTING / GRINDING OF STRUT TOWERS.
CHANGE SETTINGS IN TIME TAKEN TO UNDO THE 3 TOP STRUT MOUNT NUTS (THAT'S RIGHT 30-40 SECONDS !!!!).

ACCURATE - ULTIMATE “DIRECT ON ALIGNMENT RACK” UNDER LOAD.

EACH TO THEIR OWN.
LARGE CORPORATIONS
- COIL OVER ADJUSTERS.
K-MAC - WHEEL ALIGN ADJUSTERS.

Exactly. We did exactly that adjusted minor and marked every time no matter what it always threw it off the degree to the red or green and threw off the other side as well. As far as cutting, that looks hideous no offense, I would NEVER do that to my car.

it looks fine now haha you paint it and finish it... it's what you have to do if you want to have adjustable camber on the quick.

u need to cut openings to adjust the hats

everyone knows this

ur shops may not be w204 OG’s

so either cut it up or get milked bc once u cut it up u will never have to drop the suspension down or whatever their doing.

U have adjustments being done only in the front ?

The rear was fine ?
