INSPEED carbon-ceramic discs on this C63, with some nerdy facts

Many are curious about upgrading to carbon-ceramic brake discs, particularly after seeing the benefits offered by products like INSPEED's offerings.
The first step to determine if your vehicle can accommodate these upgrades is to check if it comes equipped with 360mm discs or larger.
If your car already has substantial-sized discs, you can often upgrade directly to matching INSPEED carbon-ceramic discs.

For example, the AMG C63 (W204) in my photos, is already fitted with high-performance 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers, along with whopping 380mm discs.
This makes it straightforward to replace the existing discs with carbon-ceramic ones of the same size.

The advantages of carbon-ceramic discs over traditional cast iron include increased durability, superior heat resistance, and significant weight reduction.
In this case, the original 380mm discs weigh approximately 11.02 kg and 9.95 kg, while the INSPEED carbon-ceramic versions weigh only about 6.75 kg and 6.97 kg.
This weight savings improves the vehicle’s handling during acceleration, braking, and cornering, quite greatly so.

Here's some more info onW204 parts, right here, at my iCARMIX shop:

Any pictures of how the rear caliper is mounted?

I bought W204 C63 Black series calipers to mount a 360mm rear disc as the legs are longer than the stock caliper. Id like to see how they did it on the stock rear caliper to get 380mm rears as the caliper mounts totally different to the front.

Very curious on a total price for Front and Rear kits. Also do you have a black series option for those with 390mm rotors?

the. W204 BS drear axle had W212 axle/ wheel hubs… That why the axle is also wider.

Yeah kind of confusing. They all have 360mm front rotors (except for the bs). So a 380 is designed to be replacing the bs 390mm rotor? Or the 380 is a direct fit for the standard 360?
380mm for the rear as well? I'm also interested in how you go about mounting those

I already knew that and was not asking that question.

Sorry didn’t read your post carefully. 😄

The BS Caliber will not fit the standard C63 w204 wheel carrier hub afaik. Just wanted to point that out before you think about fitting the caliper, let alone 380mm rotors.

regarding your question: I guess they use spacers or new new brackets like the 390mm upgrade for the 360mm rotors does.

You are incorrect again, the C63 Black Series rear caliper that I was speaking about which I own bolts straight on, everyone knows this on here after following the racing brake progress years ago. My 360mm rear two piece discs with black series calipers below.

Again with the rear caliper mounting for these carbon ceramics that is why I asked the seller a question.

Yeah sure!
The rear caliper was modified, and an adaptor was added to it.

Thanks,

Does the handbrake still work as normal? One shop told me mounting the rear calipers this way could not be done (change from side mount to radial mount) and it may also effect the handbrake functioning as normal,

Are these ceramics $24,000 HKD? So roughly £2700. It may be something in the future for me as I have just got 380mm front and 360mm rear so it’s either ceramics or AP racing pro 5000 r with their discs which are considered to be better than ceramics but not carbon/carbon race discs.

Yeah, hand brake work as normal.
In your case, you can consider a mix, AP + carbon disc

For the front you'll need adaptor to fit, and the rear calipers need both modification and adaptor. Please see up above, I posted some photos of how it is.

are those prices for the pair (left & right)? or each individual side?

not bad if they're priced for both sides, about half the retail cost of the OEM carbon ceramic rotors that can be retro-fitted from the w212.

The price is for both sides, and yeah, that's why this brand is quickly gaining popularity.
