2014 C63 metal squealing noise when in drive but not reverse
2014 stock, C63 Coupe 126K miles. For about a year I've had to wait 2-3 seconds (cold starts) after putting it in drive before giving it gas or else the trans or clutch? would slip and bang into gear, chirping the wheels. Once warm, it didn't happen. Recently here in NE it's getting colder and now my start offs in the morning, in drive, are accompanied by a metal on metal squeling noise, that changes pitch - the noise lasts about 1/2 a second under slow to moderate acceleration. It hapens in all driving modes (I haven't tried manual - I never use it). Changed the trans oil about a year ago - didn't make a difference. This does not happen in reverse.
Has any one experience this before? Any ideas?

Don't know about the squealing noise, but as far as the 'bang' in to gear... I've had 2 face-lift W204 C63s, the newer one I've owned since 25k mi, and they both have always had kind of a clunk going in to gear sometimes. I even had it looked at under warranty and they didnt find anything... I've never had any sparkles or anything in my trans fluid... I think its just a quirk of the MCT transmission.
ETA: does this noise happen regardless of if you set the parking brake? I have another vehicle ('11 Toyota Tundra) that has a little bit of a sticky parking brake pad and it will squeal for a sec as I'm pulling off after its disengaged.

These rear pads do not have a traditonal 'squeal' piece of metal that contacts the disc, they have an electronic sensor on the pad to measure wear and tell the computer.
I'm guessin it's the MCT torque converter that has worn and there is metal to metal contact?

Mct isn't going to cause a squealing noise. That's probably your parking brake shoes riding on the edges. They had updated springs that helped keep them located properly. I was just chiming in about clunking noises. MCT unit does wear out though. It'd not in reading. It's in experience. Usually cars that are in stop in go traffic more than cars being driven hard. Replaced plenty under warranty 4yr/50k back in the day. I'd say they usually start degrading around 70-80k miles. Even when new they aren't silky smooth. When worn they start feeling a little bit like warped brake rotors except its on take off or when shifting.

Thanks for the replies. I pulled the rear rotors off to inspect parking brake shoes. There was a lot of fine dust in there and the inside of the rotor was shiny, polished almost. I never use the parking brake. I haven't set it in over a year. So why would the surface be so shiny and the debris if it wasn't dragging? I used a small flat head and backed off the small, spline gear on the parking brake, so as to bing the pads in, away from the rotor. Going to do both sides and see if that stops the squealling on take off. Unfortunately I live in MA, where we are forced to go thru the riduculous inspection process, where they apply the parking brake, put it in gear, and it has to hold, so I'll need to spin the spline gear back so it's close to grabbing to pass inspection.

It was the parking brake pads rubbing causing the squeal. I backed off both parking pad adjusters, it can be done without removing the brake disc, by using a pen light and rotating the wheel until you can see the spline gear, and rotating it with a thin flathead - By adjusting it 'in' the distance between the inside rotor to pad surface is increased. I need to push down the parking brake pedal harder now to pass inspection but the sqeal is gone.
