Rocker cover IMPOSSIBLE
hi guys,
there is a hairline crack in my passenger side rocker cover that needs replacing but i cannot for the life of me find the part. does anyone have any suggestions? my garage has said they cant get it from any merc dealers and has been on back order for a while.... struggling with what to do.
any help and suggestions much appreciated.

Just ordered this kit from FCPEuro 2 weeks ago. Seems to be back ordered now. I would try a benz dealership. They should be able to get one for you in a couple days.
eBay has the old style aluminum valve covers.

Just ordered this kit from FCPEuro 2 weeks ago. Seems to be back ordered now. I would try a benz dealership. They should be able to get one for you in a couple days.

That’s the thing, my garage called all the dealers in the UK and none of them had the part…

Unfortunately, these valve covers are constantly going in and out of backorder. I've seen it happen probably 4 or 5 times in my 7 years of ownership. You can either wait it out or try and source used aluminum covers and purchase just the gasket set.

Do you need the cover with the oil fill opening? Since you guys drive on the wrong side. Your passenger side in the UK is different than the passenger side in other places.

Yes, although I think the gasket set might be a different part number. Something to confirm before ordering the gaskets.
I was looking into this when the cover I needed was on backorder, but it came back in stock before I was able to locate an aluminum set.

if I recall outer gasket is the same maybe but the spark plug hole gaskets are totally different and green not orange in color. Bolts are different also to install it.

All the gaskets and bolts are different.
Aluminum covers use black main gasket with green spark plug opening gaskets. 1560162421, 1560162521
Plastic covers use red-ish main and spark plug opening gaskets. 1590160121, 1590160221

-IF- it is the same situation as the rear suspension for our AMG Wagons....you need to find a dealer to backorder it...then, few weeks...shows up. I have seen this happen over and again in the past two years with folks replacing their struts (including mine). For more than one of us it was finding a dealer willing to backorder something from the word go.
