C63 Coupe C204
Valve cover availabilty
Grateful if any member could advise on how to source the engine valve covers of C63 W204. They are plastic and prone to cracking. They come in pairs with part numbers as follows : 1560161905 & 1560162005. I need the right side cover for urgent repair. That is 1560162005.
The suppliers already checked by me include: ECS Tuning, FCP Euro, Amazon, eBay, Autohauz,etc. Even Co-pilot and DeepSeek could not help much. Pelican Parts' website is not reachable.

They are on back order from Mercedes, I know some people here in the UK who are still waiting from November last year. It will be best to place an order now so you’re in the queue.

strange thought process. I'm just stoked that companies are still developing new parts for our cars. Would you rather buy a single pair of billet valve covers that will last the life of the car or multiple oem ones that will possibly be discontinued?

Thanks a lot for the response from you all. I just could not understand why the valve covers were made in plastic instead of metal. Weight saving? It seems that these were previously made in metal.

I've read the heat these put out had MB worried the aluminum ones would warp. 🤷♂️

I'd think so too but they're making GD intake manifolds out of plastic now, so like David on dental drugs, I don't even know what's real anymore. 😁

Small batch for an extremely niche market. Lots of machine time and a lot of waste during the machining process. Unfortunately it would cost even more to spin up a stamping process like OEM unless you knew you had thousands of units you were going to sell.
