Headers: American Racing or RennTech? Worth price difference?

Hello. I have a 2012 C63 Black Series and have been looking for a bit more sound and power. I have been going back and forth between the recommendation of my Mercedes technician that American Racing long tube headers provide plenty of sound and power for around $3k, and the RennTech long tube headers for around $9k. I have put RennTech parts on my other AMGs and always been happy with them, but I am having a hard time justifying paying triple the cost for the headers, and am curious if anyone here can speak from personal experience about the quality and power output from these. I appreciate any constructive feedback. Thank you.

I love RENNtech, but that's a steep price difference.

Plus, it's not like the case with their air box lid where they're the only proven option over OE ROW.

Quite the opposite, with very limited information on their headers while the options from ARH and MBH have a great track record on here.

MBH or ARH, nothing else better. Search the forum for all the multiple threads about them all.

I had ARH. They were great headers.

unless you're going for the whole renntech setup, the ARH are a good choice

Love all things Renntech, but there's zero justification for a $9k exhaust system. Especially if that's just the LTHs.

ARH headers are great! Their c63 catback exhuast is total crap though.

Weistec also makes fantastic headers for a little cheaper than the Renntech setup. I just bought a set and they look fantastic.

I appreciate all of the constructive feedback. I hadn't considered the MBH, but now I will. The Weistec's are up there close to the RennTech headers. So, if I decide to go that high, I will just stay all RennTech. But it sounds like the American Racing and MBH would make at least as much power as the RennTechs, and for a fraction of the cost. Would I have any trouble having a RennTech ECU tune, but not their headers?

MBH and ARH make the most power, I have never seen anyone in the last 12 years with Renntech headers make more power than those two.

These are my MBH headers below, honestly get them or ARH and forget anything else.

I have seen the MBH headers and they seem very well made!

The Weistec headers I got for a good deal seem to not have the kick up near the mid pipe section to clear one of the crossmembers. I'll have to take a closer look at it before I install it to see if I need to have a mid pipe made.

Take photos of your headers. It's interesting to look at them.
