Everybody who's interested in one of these wants to know how quick and fast it actually is and what it handles and drives like.
We should see a flurry of articles tomorrow when the embargo is lifted

I think embargo is Dec 14th right? So two more days?
But agreed. curious to see impressions and details before placing any sort of order. That said, I anticipate we are a long long way from seeing any of these on the road in North America.

And yes speaking for myself if interested in this new gen it's a long way away from getting anything since I'm only interested in the new CLE coupe which will be around 12 months behind the C class sedan and wagons.

Yes it begins...
I like this one since this guy has been the most vocal about hating on the new sound - all is forgotten and put behind though because of how potent it is and how well it drives
This new gen is shaping up great so far...

Not my favorite YouTubers, especially the second one. Watched the Autogefühl guy, but skipped forward to the driving impression. I can somewhat watch him if I have a coffee first ;-). His conclusion basically is might as well get the C43 for just driving on public roads as the C63 while the technology and straight line performance is perhaps impressive it misses the mission of the car and the weight penalty can't be overlooked. Who really wants an efficient and practically silent performance car weighing in at almost 2.5 tonne. I guess there are some people, but then just get a fully electric one. You won't have to compromise on trunk size either with that silly hump in there.

Auto Trader review was good.
I also watched the wheels australia one- also good.
It looks fast on the straights. I'd almost prefer they just tuned the engine up to 600hp without electric (I'm just thinking like a Group B 4 cylinder engine but from the manufacturer). But then turbo lag and fuel economy would be worse than just keeping the V8.

This one highlights the issues. Laggy comfort mode despite electric turbo and e-motor, obviously weight and the fact if you have low state of charge, don't expect performance.
EDIT: Beat me to it. Yeah this one brings it down to earth.

If I was to summarise: amazing what AMG has done in terms of creating a vehicle which is fast and reasonably agile within the regulations for, and requirements of, car manufacturers today, but the compromise is a heavy car which doesn't sound great. Feels like a 3.5-4 out of 5, but not a 5 out of 5. Reading between the lines, most of the journalists would probably prefer the older model

Yes, thats what it seems like. Ive watched most of the videos and thats what they all seem to say. They love the drive and agility and technology, but all bemoan the lack of sound and emotion. Also, they all comment on the fact that they expect the price to take a significant jump with all the tech and for that reason most seem to prefer the older verssion.
Im up in Canada and have been waiting for the 206 C63 for 2 years now. Need the 4matic for day to day and was hoping sound would be better. Planning on pursuing the car once its out, but going to wait to see pricing as well.

Perhaps the BMW M3/M4 comp AWD might be better for you. You'll get the traction, plus a lighter car, better driving dynamics and a better sound.......?

Very good point.... I think Il try the M3 test drive and go form there.
Just always been a MB AMG loyal fan haha. I know there are some who truly relish and appreciate the original V8 AMGs, but Ive only ever driven the CLA45 in terms of true AMG and then the C43 V6. So not tied to the V8. Actually looking forward to trying the new technology.
The only two big downsides for me right now is the sound and the price.

Yeah, I do like the looks of it for sure. Though I was hopeful when spy shots were out, for flared rear arches too.
