Quote: Got the call this morning from my SA that a rep from MB brought a C43 to my local dealership! Raced over there while at work and took plenty of pics + video (with sound). I was very impressed! I learned a few things as well which I will detail.

Guys please be patient as I upload pics/video. It’s a hectic Monday at work, but I will do my best to get these posted expeditiously.

Nice. Looking forward to the video. Take your time, no rush : ) and thanks for sharing.

Do these cars get the sound bar in the rear and speaker in the front that plays engine sound that the C 63s e performance (apparently?) have? Serious question.

Edit, to help illustrate: (Skip to 3:40)

The video is 1 minute long, 64mb. I tried attaching it here but it exceeds the 20mb limit. Perhaps I’ll try to upload it to my youtube unless anyone has a better idea.

It would work, you could try cloud storage sites, or even imgur.

idle is beefy for a 4 pot

Are there any known differences between EU and US spec? OPF etc?

Yeah it is. I had been curious to know if it might sound different without that European sound restriction stuff. This video makes me feel good about it!

Thank you so much for posting this Zee$!

Hey Zee, how are the standard seats in terms of comfort?
The car's color is black , right, how does the chrome rear look without night package?

Thanks for uploading, sincerely hope there are no "sound bar" or "speakers" like the C 63 e-performance mentioned in the video linked in the previous post.

As long as it is pure engine sound from the exhaust and not amplified by the aforementioned devices: ) Thanks for sharing.

OK, finally have a chance to answer some q’s and offer some impressions.

Few observations: This particular car was spec’d pretty basic. It is intended was for training purposes, so no surprise there.

Exterior: The black looks great. A little too subtle for my taste but nonetheless very elegant when clean. I would caution anybody against ordering the car with the standard 18s: It looked like an ordinary c300 at first glance. The badging was chrome andI I think worked well with the black. Aesthetically, the digital lights are a must. They look sharper, more functional and more aggressive than the standard LEDs. These lights had the Projection as well. I can post a quick vid of them in action if anyone is interested.

Interior:
The interior was quite impressive. The enhanced ambient lighting is tastefully done. If you feel it is distracting simply adjust the zones and brightness. But overall a nice touch. @Dima to answer your question, the standards seats felt great. Nice bolstering, very supple and a nice balance of comfort and support. The microfiber inserts felt great as well. Probably the best no-cost option we could ask for. The MB rep asked me if I ordered the Perf Seat Pckg. I told him no, because previous experiences led me to believe they were uncomfortable on long trips. He stated the the new performance seats were quite an improvement over prev generations and didn’t compromise comfort while reducing unsprung weight by 4 lbs. Those who ordered them should be content.

Sound:
Ok, here’s what really made me a believer in the C43. The car sounds GREAT. Period. When he fired it up, the growl filled the entire room. @alexasa I would contend that the US spec is different than the EU spec. It’s a nice transition from the outgoing car w/ performance exhaust. It sounds aggressive at idle and when revving. Like many of you, I was deeply concerned about the sound. I can now say this can easily go toe to toe with the competing m340, which I’ve heard fired up many many times. Another thing the MB rep mentioned was the exterior sound is slightly amplified with the AMG real performance sound, which this car was equipped with. I honestly regret not getting this option, as I thought it was a little gimmicky.

I wish I had a little more time to explore the car and ask questions, but they only had it there for four hours and I was on a lunch break. My overall impression was quite good and I feel more confident in my decision to choose this car.

Although this doesn't matter too much (if any, as only purely curious) does anyone know which factory makes the USA-bound cars W206 C 43, is it same as the C 300 as in East London?

Quote: yes for c300 in September.
If we assume the same numbers for c43, for $72k car the payment would be between $1050 - $1100 + tax
Man that would suck.

I got my 2020 C43 Leased at 649 a month, with 4k down. That was Sept 2020.

@Zee$ Thanks for all of the info, exciting to see one in US dealerships. No rush, but if you did have a quick video of the digital light projection, I was really curious as to what it was going to look like. Thanks!

Very welcome.

Here’s the vid. Note that the MB rep, Rob, actually had to cover the light sensor on the windshield with his hand, in order to trick the sensor into thinking it’s was night, resulting in full animation.

Very cool, thanks so much. Glad I went with the digital. Funny how barebones everything else is on this car but then they throw in the lights.

Good choice, basically an S-Class feature not even E-Class gets (yet... not until W214) so definitely worth it, hopefully the technology is made to good use though, I understand the high beam assist law are more lenient now in the USA as legislation is passed which is good.
