C43 destroys M340 on the track
This is how you drive cars, not like that girly guy in another video.
AMG wins by 2 seconds. And feels like a real race car, well better than BMW on a track.
@superswiss can translate if he so desires if I do, I'd be called bias.

Super Swiss, I love your many spot on technical comments! I don’t do track (at 76 yrs it’s not my thing!). I love my 2nd AMG: 24 GLE53, except for pre puberty exhaust!! Performance of the in-line 6 with supercharger is superb. (And don’t do many twisties anymore either)
best to you bro’

I didn’t understand anything so I just fast forwarded to the track times and wow that AMG is no joke. 1.5 seconds is not a small amount, especially considering the BMW has the straight line speed advantage. I don’t know what they were saying but it seems like they enjoyed the car. Many have said it before, the AMG has better dynamics period. Even when backed with concrete evidence, M340i fanboys still believe the BMW is some kind of 911 GT3. The truth is the M340i is a lazy attempt, in reality it is a 330i with a I6. The problem is the I6 is so damn good it overshadows all of that car’s issues. I’ve spent considerable time driving my friend’s M340i, it’s really nothing special, especially with how it takes a corner. It’s weird to say that we now live in a world where MB and AMG make the “drivers choice” as it is now the more precise, better balanced, more dynamic car of the two. No one would’ve thought that 20 years ago with the w203 and E46.

In that guy's defence, he did enjoy the previous generation W205 C 43 over the current generation but pre-facelift BMW competitor, he said it didn't felt much different to the 330i while he said the C 43 was clearly a completely different vehicle to the C 300, but that was over 2 years ago?
I think the previous generation BMW was more of a driver's car, fair to say BMW is more Mercedes now in terms of making sure the vehicle is more on the luxury, comfort side instead of sportiness. I even heard the base W206 drives sportier than a 330i??? They switched roles for some reason.
I mean the main thing going for a BMW (in terms of actual driving) is like you said the engine and the smooth transmission and I guess straight-line forward, but that is pretty much it.

This new 340 would be tough to beat though, especially design wise.

Well, since OP you mentioned "that guy" I thought I would talk about him again, in the McLaren Artura review, you can tell he is big fan of simplicity and with his British background, we can argue he has a certain bias towards British car brands.
In this review, he prefer function over anything else, the interior is simple and every element according to him all have a purpose. Except the squeaks and rattles in that car is way worse than Mercedes. Spoiler alert, a screw came loose during the drive. He defended McLaren of spending money on R&D in the actual vehicle tuning, the performance, handling, basically the driving characteristics and aspects of it and prefer it over many Porsches. Both of the them said the vehicle was one of the best they driven if not the best in terms of driving dynamics over other exotics/supercars and most Porsches.
Another tech fest sort of like Mercedes was the Ferrari Roma the duo reviewed, they both hated the technology inside although we can argue it could had been genuinely complicated to use or finicky at best, you could watch that review as well if you are interested in anyway.
Overall, my personal opinion (just my opinion really) I think the W206 C 43 has a good balance of both in that regards, although I wouldn't defend Mercedes for perhaps some of the issues that were talked about like transmission issues, turbo issues and other mechanical issues the first few months of launch but at least hopefully software so far fixed all of them?
Speaking of Porsche, I guess you can say those cars aren't meant to be about flashy interiors like Mercedes or the C 43 in particular, I guess they too prioritize on the driving aspect, I am guessing if you want the flashy stuff then audi would had been more suitable. That said, different car for different folks.

I want to add something real quick, I realized they also talked about how the McLaren Artura with a V6 (hybrid even) and 671 horsepower or 500kW (?) and does 0-100 in 3 seconds, weighs around 3300 pounds while W206 C 43 weighs 3900 pounds? Is quite a big difference, I wonder how they pulled it off. I think that is what MB should learn about McLaren (and Porsche for that matter), the weight savings (That said, I am going to contradict myself some what by saying, I get it, the W206 C 43 is meant to be daily driver, it has more luxury amentias and good practicality, the main focus is for going to point A to B but occasionally being able to be fun as well with the added power on a C 300). I do hope MB still learn from Porsche and McLaren in one way or the other, especially considering how heavy the new AMG GT 63 weighs and that car didn't even have the E Performance hybrid stuff yet.

Since this thread is about the W206 C 43 on the track, I thought I would share these as I found these series of videos again not in English as the video OP posted (Japanese this time, I haven't have time to watch them yet so can't comment on them) (all these videos is from one single youtube channel):
