Folks, I just bought this new car and I love it. It’s beautiful. However, I am not sure how to get the full 671 hp.

Every time I do race start and mash my foot down clicking the boost activator, the most it will go up to is 469 hp. What setting do I need to choose other than race?

Also, on my wheel, there is a boost button that I press, I am not sure if it’s the actual boost or if it boost the electric battery to charge full quicker because it says Max charge when I press it however, the boost also it pops up on the screen and when I mash my foot down in race mode it also looks like it’s boosting but the horsepower on the dashboard will not go over 469. can anyone tell me how to get the full max 671 hp out of this car?

 

I am going to assume you have down break-in and the vehicle has therefor met the mileage for full power? The transmission and engine all are warmed up?

 

I am a dumbass and literally I realized this earlier today just after I sent this. No I only have 200 miles on the car and I have not been pushing it because I know there is a breaking period. I only pushed it once and the race start would not work and told me to see owners manual. Are you 100% positive that after the breaking period of 1000 miles it will work? Also, do I have to take in for a service so they can remove that feature or is it automatically updated?

You will have to finish the break in period. And at that point the error message will go away. My advice would be to take it easy until then, you'll be glad you did and be handsomely rewarded! But yes, the ability to do race start will begin automatically, no need to go to the dealer or anything.

Yes and no. You will not always get he 671 hp, because the battery cannot sustain delivering the needed energy to the motor for more than 10 seconds. First off, you have to be in the right mode. Race is the only mode if I remember correctly that will deliver the full power, but only if you mash the throttle pedal fully. Then as said, it will deliver the 671 hp for 10 seconds and after that fall back to around 540 hp, which is the sustained power. Boost in this car refers the electric "boost". So for 10 seconds you get a boost to 671 hp, otherwise you only get ~540 max.

so I read in the manual (and I’m not sure if it pertains here or not) that there are 2 modes. Boost and sustained. Boost is default for when you use the kickdown and sustained is all the time. I have no idea where to change this or even if it’s an option to do so in our model but I thought I’d see if anyone else saw this also

 

Ok, thanks for the input. One more question though. If I am in race mode, and do not use the race start mode, and let’s say I am sitting at a light and want to floor it, keep in mind again, I am in race mode, will the boost work then as well or only on a launch control situation like the race start? Or if I am in race mode, and I put the foot down all the way into a clicks, the boost will come on regardless for 10 seconds?

Yes, its always there, not just in launch mode.

 

One way to find out perhaps, it should say boost if it does work I think, don't be mistaken with the turbo boost meter though.

 

Where exactly is this on you steering wheel. I put mine in race mode and I have no Boost button anywhere. Can you show with some pics??

 

Go in the setting of the steering wheel buttons, and you can find the boost to add to it. Like you can choose on your infotainment what you want on your buttons like exhaust, suspension, boost, etc..

It will give you the full 671 hp regardless of launch. Launch control just gives you the optimal traction and power from a standing start. Wait for the warm weather, get those summers on the car and boom! off you go to the races (as they say)

@Ozabani You don't have to be at 100% to use the boost. You just need to have "enough" stored in the battery pack. The engine must also be completely run in or it just won't allow you to use the full HP.
See the pics below from my car today. I have just over 3,400 miles on it so far. I use it in Boost Deactivated (yellow) mode in Race to get the full 671 hp when I want it and not just on kickdown.

Interesting that you need to reach 2000 miles for full power, I thought break-in was less than that. Good to know, too bad you can't download the PDF version of the supplement, I mean the operator's manual is available online so why don't they make that available online as well.
