The same "weak" calipers that are on the S63 Coupe (a substantially heavier car) and the new AMG GT (a substantially more focused sports car)?

With 6-piston calipers up front, single-piston sliding calipers are more than adequate in the rear.

yeah, i agree...those rear calipers looks pretty sorry. doesnt match the front calipers..also dislike why they badged the car AMG C63?...i still don't get why they went with that tactic, they've always badged the car with the body then numbers of the engine displacement, THEN the AMG. they should've left it as C63 AMG rather than AMG C63...it looks kinda dumb in my opinion...

The branding is now Mercedes-AMG C63. Hence why the AMG first probably.

Just because there using them on there other cars doesn't mean they look proportional. One of the cool things about AMG's was the huge brakes and with that small rear set up I don't care how big the fronts are it looks like they skimped.

Nothing wrong with a properly sized single piston sliding caliper
Even less so on the rear axle
It is purely cosmetic on a street car

Hey if you don't like the looks, I'm not going to argue with you because you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

From a functional perspective, however, those single-piston sliding calipers in the rear will hold up just fine. When it comes to braking, the hardware up front is what matters and AMG went with massive 6-piston Brembo calipers again.

So is the night package, the rear spoiler, carbon fiber package, etc.
I agree with the others that those brakes don't look good on a "performance car."

What is the 'night package'?
I took my spoiler off, looked cheesey

Function> form

The brakes offer the same performance on a 'performance car'
It should not be on a 'performance car' unless it enhances performance
Adding bling for no performance benefit is poser and pointless
A guilded pig is still a pig
Like a chrome plated pistol with pearl grips lol

You don't make any sense.
Are you saying that anyone that orders the carbon fiber package is a poser? <---- Does not enhance performance
Anyone that orders the red painted brake calipers is a poser? <---- Does not enhance performance
Rear spoiler? etc? <---- Does not enhance performance

There are many options that are offered that do not offer any performance enhancement.

Many of the people on this forum take pride in the appearance of their AMG vehicle...

A few guys here have voiced their opinion about the appearance of the rear brake... Its really that simple. No need to call everyone a poser.

You should strip your car of anything that does not offer any performance enhancement so that you can stop looking in the mirror and calling yourself a poser.

I honestly think its because they want to focus on their new optional ceramic brake upgrade. Nice upgrade more $'s and bigger brakes all round!

You don't make sense
Could mean 2 things
I am not lucid
You are not comprehending
I vote the latter

Yes, glam for glams sake is posing
As in vogue strike a pose
Especially when whining about a functional item like brakes not being glam enough even though they work great

Why so long?
Dood
If you want to glitter and bedazzle your car go for it
But don't judge BRAKES on a cosmetic basis
Base it on how they function

The rear brakes definitely look weak. But how it looks doesn't mean it actually is. Also noticed all new AMGs have fake exhaust tips. I hope it doesn't become a permanent cost cutting tactic..

The rear callipers are functional and not weak, but certainly not eye candy.

The Navigation screen is really a either love or hate thing. I personally love the screen. Gives the car a very urban look. Like a flat screen tv.

Not sure why nobody does an ipad dock for the hmi
Use for nav
Entertainment
Etc
Pull it out and use it as a pad, load music, etc
Supply the ipad with the car
Probably too complicated for the average consumer

This type of exhaust tips are now becoming more and more common and are used on most brands of the most expensive cars, so it's not necessarily a cost cutting thing.

I for one think they're a step forward because of some advantages they offer compared to standard set up tips and also well designed units look good

With these tips integrated into the rear diffusor the finish and alignment is perfect compared to standard tips which can sometimes be crooked or not in the same position as each other which looks off, also you don't have to worry about standard tips expanding when heated up and then sticking out too far with a sometimes distorted alignment and looking off until they cool down again and you don't have to worry as much about carbon and heat associated discolouration of the tip because they are disjointed from the exhaust pipe.
