The Best of Mercedes & AMG

For what it's worth, my MB dealer's customer service is extraordinarily good. Always a MB loaner available for routine service. Don't have to schedule service weeks in advance (it was a nightmare scheduling my BMWs).
If you like the M5, then might as well drive the M6 GC which is my personal favorite BMW on sale at the moment.
The M5 is a great car and I personally prefer the look of it to the E63. Another plus for the Bmw is that you can get a Euro Delivery discount on it. Unfortunately I don't believe MB does that with AMG cars. The US sticker on my car was 100k and I ended up getting mine for 89k.
I personally prefer the exterior styling of BMW but MB is right there in terms of beauty. I do agree with those saying that they are pretty different in size so that may play a factor. If its up to me I would steer you toward the C63s as it will be cheaper (not as much if you do ED) and it is a brand new model.
Other than that it is a great daily very comfortable and luxurious. After driving it for a year however I want something more nimble but I also want a v8 so ill be looking at a c63s after my lease is up. So really its up to what you want in a car, if you want a more luxurious cruiser that can feel its weight at times or do you want a smaller nimble sedan.
Btw that motortrend video is complete bs. Im convinced Mercedes tuned that e63s which is evident by the dyno. Stock for stock in the real world the M5 wins every race, ask me how I know
The reason why the BMW wins is not because of the engine, it's because of the transmission. The DCT is very quick and the previous MCT was slow and terrible.
We are seeing the same issue with the weak M3 running the same times as the more powerful C63. It's because of the transmission. While the MCT has improved it is nowhere near as good as the DCT.
And yes AMG engineers tune their engines, while the M engineers tune the car speakers!
In the real world, the AWD of the E63 will widen the gap even further as in the real world, there is not track prep or tire warming burnouts. There's just water, sand and all kind of slippery stuff.

And as far as AMG making better performance engines? Please. That must be why the new C63 and AMG GT are using the hot v configuration that was invented by BMW. Basically copying the s63tu from the m5/m6.
BTW its not all about the transmission. The m5 has better power to weight as well as less drivetrain loss.

Let me know if the result looks familiar. lol

Both cars have the same engine... Perhaps you should research 4matic

Please go to the E63 AMG forum and feel free to continue this over there. I really like the new C63s with the Night style package and the black wheels but unfortunately they are out of the black wheels. The new C63s were suppose to arrive at your local dealer in March. The first one coming to my local dealer is not arriving until June so I've decided to wait for the 2016's.
I've thought about getting the M5 myself after I saw a black one with black wheels. It was brand new and looked sharp. I did not get the hear the exhaust note but when I got home I visited U-tube for a bit.
For me it is just too expensive with all the options I want. I drove a friend's new 4 wheel drive 550i and that thing is quick. I only drove it for a short distance and I was able to punch it from a line and I was surprised how well it took off. With that in mind I can see what the M5 could be capable of. Big drawback for me is that the M5 is a lil bit bigger but mostly it is like 800+ lbs heavier. I plan on taking the car to the track and from the new C63s reviews it seems perfect for me.
M5 was also overpriced compared to the e63S when I started getting real world numbers... Got my e for 92.5k new, 106k Msrp
YouTube racers and highway racers will appreciate the 70mph+ race ... So perhaps the m5 is better for them or the European rwd e63s
To the op, what about and audi rs7?
If I had the money and the need for a nice car I wouldn't miss out on an entire summer (assuming september is the earliest for your AMG). Who knows how many more each of us has? And then you are first penguin in the new AMG and who knows whether they screw something up in the first year?
In any case, the M5 can be had with attractive lease offers. If you pile up some more rebates I wouldn't be surprised if the effective rates come out equal, and quite honestly the M5 is a higher value car if you like the size.
