The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Thank you to everyone for the comments! The car does photograph very well.
I plan on doing a full shoot with either Paid2Shoot or Andrew Link. Both of them did a MBPhotoPass with MBUSA. The Paprika G63 was actually shot on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ. Here are some more pictures.
I would take it you would be the best person to ask since you work at the dealership and a good detailer.
Does the non black vs obsidian have major difference other then the gold specs? ie.. would the obsidian hide scratches and swirls more? or is it all the same?

Also, yes it is a HUGE advantage when it comes to hiding blemished. I had Black Sapphire on my Dad's X5. It did still show swirls but looked a lot better then regular Black. HOWEVER, nothing will ever replace the "wet" look that Black has when clean. I would try to see if dealers in your area have Obsidian vehicle (despite the car) to see. It would help your decision.
I also hate swirl marks, there is an upcharge also for the obsidan basically 1k after tax where i am from...
I was wondering if it is worth it, but if you are saying it hides swirls scratches and dirt better then I am all for that 1k.

im curious how much of an effect does the obsidian changes things? I know since its still black it will show dirt and swirls more then other colours, but my question would be more or less would it hide enough of it that i won't get annoyed lol, or enough dirt that i dont have to wash more then once a week and be satisfied.
I really think black looks amazing on this car, it goes so well with the lines. Silver too tbh, but I think I will reserve silver for when I am older and don't want to wash my car as often!

My wife has an Obsidian Black W204 C63 sedan. It does not show dirt or scratches nearly as much as a straight black car. My wife swears that it is the best car color she has ever seen. I'm not a fan of black cars in hot and sunny climates due to interior heating, but the AC in her car cools things off fairly quickly. It is a nice color and definitely better looking than the Sapphire Black that came on my former M4.
I'd say if you want black, then Obsidian is the best choice.
Cheers

But when its clean -- its clean.
