Man that is awesome. I pay $1289 a month for my 2013 M5. I also did ED and MSD. I did get the car when it first came out so that shows how much difference it can make. I also do 15k miles.

I went through the NY lease agreement, and there is no line item there for MSDs just a cap cost reduction. Thoughts?

Ah, I did not know you were in the state of NY. New York I believe they are now available. They were not available back then. Now it makes sense.

I'm in CT but only White Plains was able to get the last of the MY14 507 coupes with all the options we wanted (Polar White, LSD, etc.)

I called the dealership to talk to the finance guy there; MSDs are still not available for New York.

Could I please have the complete details of your lease on the M5? Also the dealer you did it with. If I can lease this car for the same price I'll forget the C63 and lease an M5. Thanks

Hey guys. I put a deposit down on the C63 and was thrown by the residual on 36k miles. They quoted me 51%!! Is this what others are seeing too? The M3 is around 62% right?

Base residual is 46% on a S Model. A Non S base residual is 49%. Both are through MBF. Add 4% for 7,500 Miles, 3% for 10,000 Miles, and 2% for 12,000 Miles. Base percentages are for 15,000 Miles.

Thanks for the info. AMG's rates are always terrible.

Food for thought: A BMW M3 leases for half of what a C63 S leases for.

It seems to me that your dollar is worth more on the M3 than the C63S. I also expect there to be less C63S on the road than the M3, predominately due to this. Just look at the previous years...

Maybe Merc isn't really trying to make the C63S in the same segment as the M3...

I forget the Benz MF but it was much higher, probably due to the high demand for the initial batch of deliveries, I'm guessing. I imagine after 2-3 months these figures will get much better.

I was bummed at the time after having 4 AMGs in a row, but the M3 is very nice car too and I'm enjoying it immensely, especially with a tune and M-Performance exhaust.

Eventually, I'll swing back to AMG if and when they ever offer the C63s in 4Matic. Should be a monster with tune.
mcorliss,

What is the difference in "engine sound" of your M3 vs. the C63 AMG? I know that the 0-60 times are comparable but I am also interested in the sound. Obviously, it won't sound like a V8 but was just curious. Thanks.

My 2013 335i M Sport lease is up on 3/6/16. BMW lease rates are super good. My car was MSRP $57,000 and my 39 month lease payment including taxes is $575/month and might also consider just rolling up to an M3 or M4. I also wouldn't have to pay $500 to turn my car back if I buy another BMW. I'm on the fence. I think by the EOY there will be some great deals on the M's.

I'm not too sure of that. C63 and M3/M4 are direct competitors and BMWs numbers are just much more favorable to lease.

A $120K BMW M5 leases better than a $78K C63 S

I've driven the new M3, M4 and M5 and think that the M5 is truly the last great driving BMW M car. A friend of mine leased a 550i with M sport package and hates it (he's never owned anything besides BMWs).

I also highly doubt that Mercedes would bring out greats deals on the C63 or any other AMG for that matter.

Factor in the lease payments and BMW Ms cannot be beat.

You are so right on this. BMW kicks butt on their leases. At least in California where they know their market. Mercedes can't compete or doesn't want to compete which is why you will see way more M3/M4's out there than C63 AMG's. I think the C63 is great but given the economics I am leaning now to the M3/M4.

36mths/0 Down/12,000 miles.... an astonishing $1,785.32 82K MSRP

Yes I know, considering my E63 lease is $1,500 it really seems like MBUSA does not want anybody leasing these babies. Even my salesperson was re-entering figures manually because he could not believe that the lease was more than an S class, especially since the older models were more in the low thousands. Any guesses why it's so high?

For comparison, same dealership

AMG GTS 151k MSRP 36mths/0 Down/12,000 $2,400
CLS63S 113k MSRP 36mths/0 Down/15,000 $1,689.25
SL400 93k MSRP 36mths/0 Down/15,000 $1,260
SL63 164k MSRP 36mths/0 Down/15,000 $3,000
E63S 106k MSRP 36mths/0 Down/15,000 $1,800ish

Anybody else have some lease figures? The C63S is just ridiculous

Almost exact same thing quoted to me on C63S lease here in ATL. It really is absurd especially considering you can get a lower lease payment on an MB that cost $20K-30K more.

That's crazy, my E63S with $120k MSRP was 59% residual on a 36m/12k with $0 down/drive away is $1,700/mo. My '13 C63 coupe was $990/mo same lease terms but 58% residual and $80k MSRP. Money factors on both are worse than BMW, that plus better residuals and much better color palate are some of the reasons I'm watching for an x-drive option on the next M5/M6

I hope these numbers I'm seeing for people putting big chunks of cash down are not on leases... that's the worst thing you can do!

BMW way over-inflates their residuals to achieve the lower payments. They are selling more cars that way in the initial term, but taking a MAJOR hit on them when it comes time for lease turn-in and resale.

Think about it, if your 120K M5 has a 60% + residual after 3 years, how many people are going to pay 75-80K for a 3 year old 36K mile M5? After a quick search, I just found a 2014 in DFW for 79K with 8800 miles on it.

MB numbers are more realistic in terms of residual for resale, and as mentioned already, these cars are not really prime for lease.

If anyone here has ever gone and leased a ferrari or Lamborghini, it's insane! 95% residual on a 24 month lease with a max of 2000 miles per year and all service MUST be performed at the dealership. A $440K Ferrari leases out at 24mos with a payment of $2200-2500. It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen, but hey, to each their own I suppose.

Those numbers are just ridiculous and one of the reasons I didn't even consider a C63 when I looked 4 years ago. They quoted me $1600 a month on a $78k car. I am currently in a $120k MSRP 2014 CP M5 for $1480 a month for 15k miles a month/3 years. I really like the styling of the new C63 but am not paying $1500 a month for a $82k car. I can lease the new M3 for less than a grand per month. Sigh

I agree, it's absolutely nuts. MB does not like these cars when it comes to leasing. Now, a regular C class or any other car, sure, they lease out great. But the AMG's are absurdly priced on leases.

As much as I agree that the lease rates are absurd, MB knows that they don't have to offer great lease deals because these are highly specialized cars with a small target market. And that target market is either willing to pay high lease rates or will finance (or buy outright). They have the leverage to take this approach because the demand is so high. In my opinion it is that simple.

I was a m3 fan back in 2008 and looked everywhere to lease one under 1k and no luck. Back then the bmw dealers had drunk their cool aid... I walked in a mb dealer and they met my request on the first try. I have leased 3 AMGs since. Of course when a car comes out with a new MY this happens regardless of brand. In a couple years the numbers will be more relevant across the brands. You can never compare a new model to one that has already met the demands of die hard wealthy fans.

I'll be in the market late next year if I decide to not go BMW. I could probably trade my lease in a year early per norm in April if I decide to stick with BMW. My Dallas Merc dealer has 5-10 C63s on the lot according to website, so just need to make it down there to drive it and decide if I want to wait, and pay more for a similar vehicle to the M3.
