C63S Ed1 vs F8X M3
Hey Everyone,
Figured I would start a new thread.
If some of you follow bimmerpost, you may have already seen this before.
My friend and I will be doing some performance comparisons of our cars.
So far you can see my radiator hose mishap and then see the weigh in of the two cars.
We will have some clips of the exhaust sounds (he has upgrade catalytic converters already and the car sounds amazing). Once I'm done the break-in period on the C63 I'll have some HF cats made and we'll make sure we do some runs.
Take a look at the thread.

Just a word of advice - Usually, site mods/administrators don't like members linking to other forums.
Don't know if that's the case here. Perhaps you could copy/paste the information and create a corresponding thread here?
Regardless, thanks for taking the time to do some comparisons. Good stuff.

They are bitter because of how strong this is rated BEFORE it hit the streets. I have a lot of respect for the F80 M3. I do believe the back is wider and meaner looking then the C63 S. However, the C does beat it in every other way.

M3
1620 kgs = 3571 lbs
C63S
1820 kgs = 4012 lbs
Difference of 200 kgs = 441 lbs
I'm now almost 100% certain on not getting the new C63.
Options that affect weight with the M3:
- 6MT
- CF roof
- Full leather
- 19" wheels
- Steel brakes
- Catless downpipes
- Full tank of gas
Options that affect weight of the C63s:
- Panoramic roof
- 19" wheels
- AMG performance seats
- CCB
- 3/4 tank of gas

Don't forget about the pano. On the Bimmer forum they talk about the Pano roof @ 1/4" thick only weighs about 30 kilos. That's .
I used to work with glass and I can tell you that tempered glass which I am sure the Pano is it would be at least double.
Weigh a c63 with and without a pano and you will have the answer we are all looking for.
I opted for a non pano roof because I didn't want that extra weight on top.

Here's another video, the M3 has JB4 Map 2 and downpipes in this video. In the first vid posted, the M3 is on Map 0 (stock tune) but with downpipes.
Seems like even tuned M3's will have some trouble pulling away from a stock C63S

I was following this discussion on the other forum. It was interesting that the weight discussions were well received but when the videos turned up, all hell broke loose. Some of the guys over there acknowledged that the C63S is a beast but others are in complete denial.
Anyone have accurate figures on the pano weight?

So here is something interesting that I thought I would share. On every vehicle shipped; the weight is stamped on the MSO or title. My car was 3,755 pounds. That is not with a full tank of fuel.
The cars are shipped with about 2 gallons of fuel which is entered to the shipping weight. Add for an additional 16 gallons of gas x 6 pounds per gallon is 96 pounds more. My car should weigh 3,851 pounds. I do have a Pano and the standard seats.

I think you missed the pics of the two cars sitting on the same scale... Thats why they gave the details on the cars because those were actual figures based on the way those two cars were optioned.
No doubt the M3 is lighter but the power advantage for the AMG seems to be plenty to make up for it. Both cars are pretty incredible and I'm sure there will be track battles that the M3 wins and drag races that the AMG wins and visa versa... the only true winner is us as the consumer for having two really great choices.
and for the record I do think the C63s is going to prove to be the faster car... stock vs stock and definitely tuned vs tuned.

Hi I had a 2015 M4 with M Performance Titanium exhaust on. I traded it in for a C63 this week. All I am say is wow, this C63 is awesome and the exhaust note is on a different level. Best decision I made, no regrets with my decision. Last Mercedes I had was 7 years ago, was a W204 C63. M4 will be faster on a track, but as a car to live with, no competition, C63 all the way. I have a 2015 X5M as well and that exhaust note doesn't even come close either
