Drove the Eurocharged tuned C63S, Holy Hell!!
I suspect this is all because they'll use this engine across the board in the future and in cars with more bhp than the C63S. Not putting better turbos for this model is simply because they don't need to for the power outputs they are selling it at but the engine is the same to cut R&D costs I imagine.
I take it this tune won't over cook the turbos or that's a possibility?
Nobody knows the real limitations on the half shafts or the differential, but I would assume 700hp is probably a safe number.
I see a 9 second c63S in the future from one of the all-out guys.... after this platform has depreciated enough to justify mod to the xtreme for little entry fee, and after there are some good used sources for these motors. Some will undoubtly get popped with extreme boost/tunes/AFR's....... chasing ET/MPH.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
That's a typical advantage/benefit of Forced Induction vs N/A

Look at the power and torque output of the little M133
Even MB's little 4 pot TT FI diesels can put out more torque than the mighty and massive displacement M156.
FI is the way forward
Always amuses me when people talk about turbo lag. 10 years ago there was turbo lag and you could feel exactly where it kicks in. These days it's all but unnoticeable as its so quick.
I had a car where the turbo kicked in around 1,800 rpm back in the days. If you came off the line without the turbo spinning a granny would beat you off the lights. If you revved enough to spin the turbo you'd wheel spin off the lights. There just wasn't anything in between snail slow and hoon

It'll be why the car pulls off the line in 2nd when in comfort. 1st is for when your towing a tank which has its brakes on

I hear you and can relate to the above I still own an 'older tech' turbo petrol car and totally love and/or accept the way the turbo power curve comes in from initial lag to eventually going like a skinned cat lol, it makes for a fun full ride experience IMO

Having said that I'm totally looking forward to owning one of the newer tech petrols such as this M177 for hardly any lag at all, I'm already used to that with my C204 twin turbo CDI coupe, whether stock or tuned like mine they (the diesels) have almost zero lag and pretty much 100% torque at WOT almost immediately off idle, the only lag or hesitation is in the damn transmissions LOL
